At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
Product Finance Analyst
As a member of Snowflake's Product Finance team, you will help support one of the fastest-growing areas of our business: cloud and AI unit economics. You will develop deep expertise on our cloud infrastructure and emerging AI cost drivers, and act as a strategic partner to Engineering, Product, and Finance leaders. We are looking for an early-career, self-motivated problem solver who is intellectually curious, ambitious, and genuinely cares about making our infrastructure spend more efficient and solving ambiguous business problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Along with 5 other team members, help manage cloud economics for Snowflake. Track actuals vs. forecast, dig into variances, and continuously iterate to improve accuracy.
- Answer detailed questions around our cloud and AI unit economics (CPC, CPTB, token economics, inference costs). You will enable critical strategic decision making with insightful data and analysis.
- Identify problems and abnormalities in our infrastructure and AI spend and work to resolve them to minimize business impact. Provide recommendations on ways we can reduce COGS/OpEx and improve margin.
- Build out tooling in Snowflake, Streamlit, or our BI tools to manage CSP and AI spend. You're focused on scaling our processes and reporting as we grow into a $10bn business. At Snowflake, we pride ourselves on developing our internal tooling vs. relying on 3rd parties for analytics.
- Be a strong adopter of AI in your own workflows. Use LLMs, Cortex, or similar tools to work faster, and you're excited to push how Finance uses AI day-to-day.
- Be an expert on the cost reporting structure and differences across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and develop a point of view on the economics of AI workloads (training, inference, serving).
- Work closely with our Accounting team on our monthly close process by providing guidance on COGS/R&D classification.
- Become a trusted business partner to our Engineering and Product Management teams on all aspects of our cloud and AI spend. You will be leaned on as an active advisor for cost considerations whenever our infrastructure is involved.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- New grad to 2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting, or a related analytical field. Experience working in a SaaS business alongside Engineering and Analytics teams is a plus.
- Strong business intuition. You can look at a number and have a sense of whether it makes sense, and you ask good follow-up questions.
- Comfort diving into data. You are proficient (or quickly becoming proficient) in SQL, have solid Excel skills, and are not intimidated by large, messy, or unfamiliar datasets. Python and BI tool experience is a plus.
- Comfort working with and presenting to senior stakeholders. In this role you will be exposed to personas across all levels of the organization.
- Solid problem solving ability and experience working through ambiguity or unknown datasets. You take initiative and are willing to drive things forward without being asked.
- Good understanding of GAAP, or eagerness to learn it quickly. You know how to classify something as COGS or OpEx, and if you are unsure, then you know the right questions to ask.
- Knowing how to communicate complex and technical concepts in a succinct and simplistic manner to a less technically knowledgeable colleague will be critical to success.
- You have a thirst for knowledge and your first version is never your best. You are a believer that there is always a better way and you continually work towards that.
- Preferred: Experience analyzing cost and usage data from AWS, Azure, or GCP. FinOps certification is nice to have.
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, CS, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.

Align your degree field to Snowflake's roles
Snowflake's OPT hires cluster in software engineering, data engineering, and solutions architecture. Before applying, confirm your degree field maps directly to your target role so your OPT EAD's authorized occupation aligns with what Snowflake's recruiters will verify during onboarding.
Confirm Snowflake's E-Verify enrollment early
STEM OPT's 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Snowflake participates, but confirm enrollment status with the recruiting team before accepting an offer, since your 60-day grace period to find a STEM-eligible employer is not extendable.
Target teams with recurring OPT hiring patterns
Snowflake's data platform and cloud engineering teams have the highest volume of early-career technical roles. Prioritizing these teams in your application, rather than applying broadly, puts you in front of hiring managers already familiar with OPT onboarding timelines and STEM extension requirements.
Check prevailing wage for your role and location
When Snowflake eventually files your H-1B, DOL requires the offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location. Use OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your role before negotiating your offer, so you're not caught short at H-1B filing.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified OPT-friendly roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Snowflake job listings by visa type and see which roles have active OPT hiring history. This lets you apply to positions where the hiring team has already navigated OPT onboarding, reducing the chance of an offer falling through over work authorization questions.
Submit your STEM OPT I-983 before your EAD expires
Your DSO must receive a completed I-983 training plan, signed by both you and a Snowflake supervisor, at least 90 days before your initial OPT expires. Late submissions cannot be backdated, so coordinate with Snowflake's HR team on the supervisory signature well in advance.
Snowflake OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor OPT visas?
Snowflake hires students who already hold an OPT EAD issued by USCIS. Employers don't petition for OPT itself, so Snowflake's role is to hire you and, for STEM OPT, provide a signed I-983 training plan through your DSO. Snowflake is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required to support the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
Which roles at Snowflake typically hire OPT students?
OPT hires at Snowflake are concentrated in software engineering, data engineering, solutions engineering, and product management. These teams regularly post early-career and new-graduate positions that align with STEM-designated degree programs, making them the most reliable entry points for F-1 students on OPT.
How do I navigate the OPT onboarding process at Snowflake?
Once you receive an offer, Snowflake's HR team will verify your OPT EAD during I-9 completion. For STEM OPT, you'll need to work with your DSO to submit an I-983 training plan co-signed by a Snowflake supervisor before your initial OPT period ends. Start that process at least 90 days before your EAD expiration date.
What is the timeline from OPT to H-1B at Snowflake?
Most OPT students at Snowflake aim to transition to H-1B after demonstrating performance. Snowflake typically files H-1B petitions in the April lottery, with an October 1 start date if selected. STEM OPT's 24-month extension gives you up to three lottery cycles to secure H-1B status before your work authorization ends.
How do I find OPT-friendly open roles at Snowflake?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Snowflake job listings by visa type, surfacing roles with documented OPT and H-1B hiring history. This helps you identify teams where recruiters are already familiar with EAD verification and STEM OPT training plan requirements, so your application doesn't stall over work authorization questions.
How does Snowflake hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Snowflake can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Snowflake's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
