Target clinical informatics and allied health roles
Tower Health's hiring patterns skew toward clinical operations, health informatics, and allied health functions. Search for roles where your degree field maps directly to the job title, since specialty occupation alignment matters when Tower Health later evaluates H-1B sponsorship for the same position.
Verify your OPT EAD start date before applying
Your OPT EAD must be valid on your proposed start date. Tower Health's HR onboarding requires work authorization documentation upfront. If your EAD start date is more than 90 days out, flag this during offer negotiations so both parties can align on a realistic start timeline.
Confirm Tower Health's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
STEM OPT requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Before signing an offer, ask Tower Health's HR department to confirm active E-Verify participation. Without that confirmation, you can't file the STEM OPT extension with USCIS, which limits you to 12 months of OPT authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to find Tower Health's H-1B filing history
OPT is a bridge, not a destination. Use Migrate Mate to review Tower Health's H-1B filing history by role and department before you apply. That data tells you which job categories the system has sponsored in the past, helping you target positions with a realistic post-OPT pathway.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
Healthcare employers use the prevailing wage system for H-1B filings. Look up your target role in the OFLC Wage Search before salary negotiations. Accepting an offer significantly below the prevailing wage can complicate your H-1B sponsorship request later, since Tower Health must certify wage compliance at filing.
Document your specialty occupation connection in your resume
Tower Health's hiring managers review credentials closely in regulated healthcare settings. Your resume should explicitly state your degree field, graduation date, and how your coursework connects to the specific clinical or technical role. A vague connection between your degree and job title increases the risk of an RFE if H-1B sponsorship follows.
Tower Health OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tower Health sponsor OPT visas?
Tower Health doesn't sponsor OPT directly. OPT is work authorization issued by USCIS to eligible F-1 students. What Tower Health does is hire students who already hold a valid OPT EAD. The company has a track record of H-1B sponsorship, which makes it a viable employer for OPT students planning a longer-term U.S. career in healthcare.
Which departments at Tower Health typically hire OPT students?
Tower Health's clinical operations, health informatics, nursing support, and administrative services functions are the most common entry points for OPT hires. Roles that require a specific healthcare or technical degree field tend to align well with OPT authorization, since the job-degree connection also supports any future H-1B petition. Use Migrate Mate to see which role categories Tower Health has historically filed H-1B petitions for.
How do I start the OPT employment process at Tower Health?
Your DSO authorizes OPT through your school and USCIS issues the EAD. Once you have your EAD, you present it to Tower Health's HR team during onboarding as proof of work authorization. Tower Health then completes the E-Verify employment eligibility check. For STEM OPT, you'll also need Tower Health to sign your I-983 training plan before filing the extension with USCIS.
What is the timeline for transitioning from OPT to H-1B at Tower Health?
Standard OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization. If your degree is STEM-designated, a 24-month extension is available, giving you up to 36 months total. H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. Tower Health would need to register you and file a petition after selection. Starting that conversation at least six months before your OPT expires gives HR time to act.
Does Tower Health need to file anything with the DOL for my OPT employment?
No DOL filing is required for standard OPT employment. The Labor Condition Application that Tower Health files with the DOL is specific to H-1B petitions, not OPT. For STEM OPT, Tower Health must be enrolled in E-Verify and sign your I-983 training plan, but there's no separate DOL filing triggered by your OPT status alone.
How does Tower Health hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Tower Health can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Tower Health's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
