Responsibilities
- Promote health and wellness throughout the school community
- Provide direct care to students who are ill, injured, or have medical needs
- Administer medications in accordance with school medication authorization forms
- Provide first aid and assess student injuries and illnesses
- Respond to medical emergencies and contact emergency personnel when needed
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student illness, injury, and pickup needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
- Monitor and maintain student immunization compliance
- Review and manage student health care plans, allergy action plans, and emergency medication needs
- Maintain updated lists of students with allergies, medical conditions, and medications on campus
- Oversee medication storage and documentation procedures
- Order and maintain clinic and emergency medical supplies
- Ensure AEDs are maintained and ready for use
- Serve as the school contact for health-related concerns and medical compliance
- Coordinate annual health-related trainings for faculty and staff, including CPR/AED and emergency medication administration
- Support field trips by preparing medical supplies, medication, and health information as needed
- Coordinate with administration, counselors, athletic staff, and families regarding student health needs
- Assist with communicable disease reporting and school health protocols as required
- Serve as site administrator for Magnus Health and monitor completion of required student medical forms
- Develop backup procedures for nurse absences and train designated staff as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
