Target technical and scientific roles
Green Card sponsorship at Edwards Lifesciences concentrates in engineering, regulatory affairs, clinical research, and R&D. These functions align with the company's core medical device work, making them the strongest departments to pursue for permanent residence support.
Start on an H-1B or TN before requesting Green Card
Most Edwards Lifesciences Green Card cases begin after a few years on a temporary work visa. Demonstrating strong performance in your role builds the internal case for the company to invest in your permanent residence petition.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Edwards Lifesciences typically sponsors Green Cards through the PERM-based EB-2 or EB-3 categories. PERM requires the company to document recruitment efforts, so the process starts well before any USCIS filing and can take a year or more to complete.
Raise Green Card early in your employment
Processing timelines for employer-sponsored Green Cards are long. Bringing up your long-term authorization goals during onboarding or early performance reviews gives HR and immigration counsel time to plan, especially if you're from a country with retrogressed priority dates.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every role at Edwards Lifesciences will come with a Green Card commitment. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on positions where permanent residence support is genuinely on the table.
Align your job title with the right EB category
EB-2 requires a role demonstrating advanced degree requirements or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professional and skilled worker positions. Clarify with your recruiter which category your prospective role falls under, as it directly affects your priority date and overall timeline.
Edwards Lifesciences Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Edwards Lifesciences sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Edwards Lifesciences sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company files permanent residence petitions primarily in the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, supporting workers in technical, engineering, regulatory, and clinical roles. Sponsorship is typically offered to existing employees after they have demonstrated strong performance on a temporary work visa.
Which roles at Edwards Lifesciences are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Edwards Lifesciences is most common in roles that require specialized expertise in medical device development. Engineering positions, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical research associates, quality assurance professionals, and R&D scientists are among the functions most frequently supported. Corporate and administrative roles are less commonly sponsored for permanent residence.
How does the Green Card process work at Edwards Lifesciences?
Edwards Lifesciences typically sponsors Green Cards through the PERM labor certification route, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. PERM requires the company to conduct a supervised recruitment process to confirm no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. Once PERM is certified and the I-140 is approved, employees wait for a visa number to become available before filing for adjustment of status or consular processing.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through Edwards Lifesciences?
The timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the EB category your role qualifies under. PERM certification alone can take 12 to 18 months. For employees born in countries without visa backlogs, the full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can be two to four years. Employees born in India or China may face significantly longer waits due to priority date retrogression.
How do I find Edwards Lifesciences jobs that include Green Card sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to look for roles that align with Edwards Lifesciences's core medical device functions, where sponsorship is most consistently offered. Migrate Mate lists verified Green Card-sponsoring employers and lets you filter specifically for Edwards Lifesciences roles, so you can identify open positions where permanent residence support is part of the employer's established hiring practice.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Edwards Lifesciences?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
