Does Klarna sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available filing data, Klarna has not sponsored H-1B visas in the United States. Its sponsorship activity has focused on Green Cards and F-1 OPT and CPT work authorization. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, it's worth confirming directly with Klarna's recruiting team whether their policy has changed.
What visa types does Klarna sponsor?
Klarna sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards and supports F-1 OPT and CPT employment. It has also sponsored TN visas, which are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. Klarna does not have a recorded history of H-1B sponsorship, which is an important distinction if you're planning around that pathway.
Which departments or roles at Klarna are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Klarna's sponsorship activity tends to align with its core technical and product operations. Roles in software engineering, data and machine learning, product management, and financial risk are typically where fintech companies concentrate sponsored hires. Klarna's payments and banking infrastructure also creates demand for compliance and operations professionals with specialized expertise.
How do I apply for a sponsored role at Klarna?
Start by identifying open roles that match your background using Migrate Mate, which filters for employers with verified sponsorship histories. When you reach the interview stage at Klarna, ask the recruiter early about sponsorship eligibility for your visa type. For F-1 students, confirm OPT or CPT compatibility before accepting any offer to avoid authorization gaps.
How do I know if Klarna's sponsorship record makes it worth targeting?
Klarna has a genuine track record of sponsoring foreign national workers in the U.S., particularly through Green Card pathways and F-1 work authorization. For professionals in fintech, engineering, or financial services who are seeking permanent residence sponsorship rather than H-1B, Klarna is a more relevant target than its visa profile might first suggest. Reviewing its actual filing categories before applying helps set realistic expectations.
