About The Role
Tessera Labs is looking for an experienced Office Manager to own the day-to-day operations of our New York office. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in creating a well-run and welcoming workplace, and enjoys wearing many hats. You'll be the backbone of our office experience — from keeping day-to-day operations running seamlessly to planning and executing high-impact internal and external events. This role is ideal for someone with strong instincts for anticipating needs before they become problems, who takes ownership without needing to be asked twice, and who genuinely enjoys helping a team run smoothly.
- Manage all aspects of office operations, including ordering and stocking supplies, kitchen/pantry management, and general office upkeep
- Coordinate furniture upgrades, installs, and office layout changes, working with vendors and building management as needed
- Partner with operations team on the planning and execution of company events, team offsites, holiday parties, and other employee experience initiatives
- Partner with Communications, Go-to-Market, and executive leadership to coordinate high-visibility external events, including executive dinners, customer roundtables, investor gatherings, and conference-related activations attended by CIOs, venture capitalists, customers, and strategic partners
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities issues, vendor relationships, and building management
- Provide administrative and executive support as needed, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence
- Manage office budget for supplies, events, and operational needs
- Own the onboarding experience for new hires from a workplace/logistics standpoint (desk setup, equipment, welcome materials)
- Anticipate office needs proactively and troubleshoot issues before they escalate
- Jump in wherever needed — priorities shift quickly here, and this role requires flexibility and a "no task too small" mindset
- Help maintain a positive, organized, and energizing office culture
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in office management, administrative support, or executive support
- Demonstrated success planning and executing both internal employee events and executive-facing external events
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams—including Communications, Marketing, Go-to-Market, or Executive Leadership—to deliver polished, high-touch experiences
- Experience managing office logistics: ordering/stocking supplies, coordinating furniture installs and upgrades, vendor management
- A high level of drive, autonomy, and ownership — you don't wait to be told what to do
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable shifting priorities quickly in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work onsite in our New York City office
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting a growing startup or high-growth company
- Familiarity with office management tools (e.g., booking systems, expense tools, HRIS platforms)
- Experience with light project management or cross-functional coordination

Target technical and software roles first
Tessera Labs sponsors H-1B visas primarily for roles tied to its technology and software operations. Focus your application on engineering, development, or technical positions where specialty occupation requirements are easiest to establish and sponsorship is most commonly offered.
Confirm your degree aligns with the role
H-1B sponsorship requires your degree field to match the job's specialty occupation. For a tech company like Tessera Labs, a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field significantly strengthens your application and reduces USCIS scrutiny.
Engage early in the hiring process
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Approach Tessera Labs well before that window, ideally during Q4 or Q1, so there's enough lead time to complete the LCA and filing process comfortably.
Make your sponsorship needs clear upfront
Smaller technology companies appreciate candidates who understand the H-1B process and can walk through it confidently. When applying to Tessera Labs, signal that you're familiar with the timeline, documentation requirements, and employer obligations, it reduces perceived friction.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Tessera Labs's sponsorship history
Before investing time in an application, confirm Tessera Labs's sponsorship track record for your role type. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and apply with confidence rather than guessing.
Understand that tech company sponsorship can vary by team
At technology and software firms like Tessera Labs, sponsorship decisions are often made at the team or department level. Connecting directly with hiring managers in engineering or product teams can surface sponsorship opportunities that don't always appear in job listings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tessera Labs sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Tessera Labs sponsors H-1B visas. The company operates in the technology and software industry, where H-1B sponsorship is common for roles requiring specialized technical knowledge. If you hold a degree in a relevant field such as computer science or software engineering and have a qualifying job offer, Tessera Labs is a legitimate H-1B sponsorship option worth pursuing.
What types of roles at Tessera Labs are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Tessera Labs's sponsorship activity is concentrated in its core technology and software functions. Roles in software engineering, product development, and technical operations are most commonly associated with H-1B filings at companies like Tessera Labs. Positions requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field are the strongest candidates for sponsorship eligibility.
How do I find open H-1B sponsored jobs at Tessera Labs?
The most reliable way is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history and surfaces open roles at companies like Tessera Labs that have actively filed for H-1B visas. This lets you filter for real sponsorship data rather than relying on job listings that don't always disclose visa sponsorship availability upfront.
How do I approach the H-1B application timeline when targeting Tessera Labs?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject filings must be submitted by April 1 to begin work on October 1. You should aim to have a signed offer from Tessera Labs no later than February or early March, giving the company time to file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and prepare the full I-129 petition before the deadline.
What should I know about Tessera Labs's sponsorship process as a first-time H-1B applicant?
As a smaller technology company, Tessera Labs may work with an outside immigration attorney to manage H-1B filings. Expect the process to involve an LCA filing, a formal offer letter specifying your role and salary, and supporting documentation confirming your degree and job duties. Coming into the conversation with a solid understanding of these steps makes you a more attractive candidate and helps the process move faster.
