INTRODUCTION

The GCP Technology Consulting Principal is a senior technology consulting role supporting medium-sized strategic accounts. This position delivers technical expertise, innovative solutions, and strategic guidance to help clients achieve business outcomes through technology adoption and digital transformation. You will lead across the full client lifecycle, from pre-sales through delivery and long-term engagement, acting as a trusted advisor and driving alignment between technology strategy and business priorities. The role emphasizes innovation, architectural excellence, and strong stakeholder influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

- Partner with cross-functional sales teams to provide expert technology guidance and support solution development
- Engage clients to understand business objectives, transformation initiatives, and technical environments, translating these into scalable technology solutions
- Define and document business cases, architectural designs, and technology roadmaps aligned to strategic goals
- Lead client workshops, facilitate discovery sessions, and clarify scope and requirements
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders to influence technology decisions
- Simplify complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive and non-technical audiences
- Act as a customer advocate to ensure solutions align with expectations throughout delivery
- Collaborate with internal teams, SMEs, and leadership to drive successful implementation of technology strategies
- Identify risks, improvement areas, and opportunities for additional services or enhancements
- Contribute to innovation efforts, including development of new solutions and strategic initiatives
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance policies throughout project lifecycles
- Support project closure activities, including proper data handling and retention practices

REQUIREMENTS

- 8+ years of experience in software development with strong focus on architecture and engineering solutions
- 5+ years in a leadership or technical lead role driving architectural decisions
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, cloud-native, and event-driven architectures
- Strong experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
- Ability to evaluate and select technologies based on performance, scalability, and cost considerations
- Proven experience with architectural documentation, modeling, and large-scale system design
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working across cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency or higher
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Relevant certifications (cloud, architecture frameworks, etc.) are a plus

This posting includes an anticipated salary range that SoftServe expects to offer for this position. The range provided reflects the base salary only. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on some factors, including, but not limited to: geographic location, relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, budget, and market conditions. The anticipated salary range for this role is $160,000 – $210,000 annually, in line with our internal compensation framework and budget allocation for the role. Most candidates are offered a salary within this disclosed range. If the role is eligible for a variable pay plan, this would be considered separately and may provide additional earnings beyond the base salary range reflected here.
