Job Roles at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles that align with Green Card sponsorship
Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd's sponsorship activity is concentrated in permanent residence pathways. Focus your application on clinical, therapeutic, and direct care roles, these are most likely to qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship at this organization.
Ask about the PERM labor certification process upfront
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires PERM labor certification, which adds significant time before USCIS filing. Clarify during interviews whether Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd has started this process for the role or plans to initiate it post-hire.
Leverage F-1 OPT or CPT to get a foot in the door
Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible for international students in healthcare-adjacent fields. Starting on OPT can build the internal relationship needed to transition into a long-term Green Card sponsorship arrangement.
Highlight licensure and credentials relevant to U.S. healthcare
Healthcare employers like Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd face strict state licensing requirements for clinical roles. Demonstrating that your credentials are recognized or transferable in the U.S. significantly strengthens your candidacy and simplifies the sponsorship conversation.

What visa types does Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd sponsor?
Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas, which lead to a U.S. Green Card, as well as F-1 OPT and CPT for international students completing degrees in the U.S. It also sponsors TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals. Sponsorship at healthcare and social services organizations like Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd is most common in clinical and direct care roles, think registered nurses, therapists, social workers, and care coordinators. Roles in administration or general support are less likely to qualify for Green Card sponsorship.
How do I apply to Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd if I need visa sponsorship?

When you apply, be transparent about your visa situation from the first conversation, employers appreciate clarity early. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified job openings at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd and filter by sponsorship type, so you're targeting roles where a Green Card pathway is already part of the employment package.
How long does the Green Card sponsorship process take at an employer like Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through an employer involves three major stages: PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, and finally adjustment of status or consular processing. The full process typically takes two to four years at minimum, and can extend significantly longer depending on your country of birth and priority date backlog.
