INTRODUCTION
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next. The Ads Data & Insights team's mission at Netflix is to help build the foundation of the Ads business. We design effective metrics, conduct analyses and develop analytic tools, and build predictive models and algorithms using machine learning - all with the goal of creating more choices and joy for our members.
We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the development of a unified revenue analytics narrative and strategy for Netflix’s global Ads business. Building upon our growing data infrastructure, we need an end-to-end owner to operationalize core revenue datasets and drive the overarching business narrative. In this highly impactful role, you will build the semantic models, executive dashboards, and analysis frameworks that drive how we measure, reconcile, and communicate revenue across diverse stakeholder groups. As a subject matter expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the analytics vision for revenue measurement. You will take foundational revenue definitions and champion them across Finance & Strategy, Revenue Accounting, and Product. This is an open opportunity to explore how we measure and think about revenue across the entire Ads business—empowering Netflix to deliver accurate, transparent, and timely insights that cascade into key downstream performance metrics.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the analytics vision for unified revenue measurement across Netflix Ads, designing and implementing frameworks to harmonize, quantify, and report on diverse revenue streams, including new content formats Netflix is launching, like Live and Free-to-air Broadcasting.
- Act as the lead Semantic Architect for revenue, driving consensus across F&S, Accounting, and Product, and codifying those agreed-upon definitions into the Ads Metrics Catalog (AMC) and our underlying semantic models.
- Build scalable, transparent data models and dashboards—in partnership with Data Engineering—that provide real-time and periodic insights into revenue streams, metric definitions, and the impact of adjustments, supporting daily operational needs and strict financial and SOX compliance reporting.
- Drive the narrative around how core revenue definitions impact downstream performance metrics (like CPM and CPS), conducting deep-dive research to explain the why behind metric movements.
- Act as a subject matter expert in revenue analytics, piloting scalable solutions for complex treatments (e.g., invoice discounts, agency fees, FX rates, makegoods, and integrated marketing fees), and driving innovation and transparency in how Netflix measures and communicates advertising revenue.
- Serve as the integration layer for revenue data. While partner teams may own localized source data (Sales, Live, etc.), you will be responsible for aggregating, harmonizing, and exposing the overarching executive revenue views in core reporting surfaces.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with financial datasets, revenue accounting, or ad-tech monetization analytics.
- A “Data Product Owner” mindset. You are comfortable with ambiguity and recognize that defining the metric across a matrixed organization is just as important as writing the code to build it.
- Communication superpower — the ability to communicate, influence, and connect the dots between insights and actions across a variety of stakeholders.
- Fluency in SQL, workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, and at least one analytics and scripting language like Python.
- Mentors, brainstorms with, and enables others, especially within your functional area.
- A proven track record of balancing the need to move quickly with the high rigor and accuracy required for executive and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical rigor combined with the ability to conduct independent research and explain complex metric variances to senior leadership.
- Experience building or working with semantic modeling tools like LookML for creating and managing metric contracts is a plus.
- Curiosity or practical experience building with emerging AI technologies (e.g., Agentic AI) is a plus.
COMPENSATION
- The range for this role is $330,000.00 - $566,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.
BENEFITS
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner. We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
Job is open for no less than 7 days and will be removed when the position is filled.

Align your portfolio to Netflix's data scale
Netflix evaluates Data Analytics Engineers on experience with high-volume, distributed data systems. Before applying, ensure your portfolio shows work with tools like Spark, Flink, or Airflow at scale, not just reporting or BI work.
Target teams that ship data products
Netflix's Data Analytics Engineering roles are spread across product, content, and studio teams. Applying to roles tied to a specific product area, rather than centralized data teams, often signals stronger role fit and speeds hiring decisions.
Confirm your visa type before the offer stage
Netflix sponsors several visa categories for this role, but not all are available at every career level. Clarify which pathway applies to your situation during the recruiter screen, before the technical loop, so there are no surprises at offer.
Request H-1B cap-exempt timing if applicable
If you're transferring from a cap-exempt institution like a university or nonprofit research org, your H-1B can be filed outside the April lottery window. Raise this with the recruiter early so Netflix's immigration team can plan accordingly with USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to find Netflix data roles that sponsor
Not every open Data Analytics Engineer listing at Netflix is tagged for sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Netflix roles that match your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for a longer timeline if PERM is involved
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which adds months to the process. If long-term permanent residency is your goal, ask Netflix's immigration team about their PERM initiation timeline during the offer stage.

Find Data Analytics Engineer at Netflix JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Data Analytics Engineers?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Data Analytics Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards given its degree requirements in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Sponsorship is handled through Netflix's in-house immigration team. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing your application cycle with the April lottery window is essential.
How do I apply for Data Analytics Engineer jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers site, where roles are listed by team and function. Tailoring your resume to reflect large-scale data pipeline work, not just analytics or visualization, improves your chances of passing initial screening. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Data Analytics Engineer openings at Netflix filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves time if you need confirmed sponsorship before applying.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly use for Data Analytics Engineers?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT or CPT for Data Analytics Engineer roles, depending on your nationality and career stage. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery. Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying roles may use the TN. For permanent residence, Netflix supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM process.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Data Analytics Engineer roles?
Netflix typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, statistics, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience building production data pipelines. Proficiency in SQL and Python is baseline. Experience with distributed processing frameworks like Spark or Flink, and familiarity with cloud data platforms, distinguishes competitive candidates from those with only reporting or BI backgrounds.
How do I estimate a realistic timeline from application to start date at Netflix?
Netflix's technical interview process for Data Analytics Engineers typically runs four to eight weeks from recruiter screen to offer. After an offer, visa processing time depends on your category: F-1 OPT can be immediate if your EAD is valid, while H-1B filings take three to five months without premium processing. Factor in USCIS processing windows when negotiating your start date, and confirm whether Netflix uses premium processing by default.
