INTRODUCTION
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Portfolio Management (PM) Data Analytics team is the analytics engine behind Portfolio Management - owning the tools and reporting infrastructure that Netflix planners and strategists rely on to make decisions at both site and portfolio scale.
We are seeking a Manager, PM Strategy & Data Analytics: a senior individual contributor who brings strong depth in space planning and portfolio management to advance the team's analytical capabilities. This person will report to the Senior Manager of Portfolio Management Data Analytics. They will be a PM strategic partner at all levels: from PM Director to regional PM planners and the Netflix Design team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate has:
- Done the work, from managing space at the site level to shaping the metrics and tools that inform enterprise-wide real estate decisions.
- Will bring deep experience on in-house corporate real estate or space planning teams.
- Bring clarity to complex problems, combining diverse datasets and understanding the balance between hard numbers and qualitative inputs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
-
Space Strategy & Occupancy Intelligence
-
Serve as the PM Data Analytics subject matter expert on space programming, occupancy planning, and portfolio metrics. Serve as a strategic partner for Portfolio Management Managers and Space & Occupancy teams globally.
- Lead the development of long-term headcount forecasting in partnership with Finance, including analysis of site impacts across all regions.
- Own the development and ongoing evolution of core space planning tools used by planners across regions: such as: Program Calculator, Space Type Dictionary, Site Planning Guidelines, or Workplace Insights Survey.
-
Translate site-level occupancy data into portfolio-scale insights: connecting qualitative and quantitative data points into a coherent narrative to inform Netflix Portfolio Management.
-
Analytics, Reporting & Data Infrastructure
-
Own and evolve core reporting cadences: weekly and monthly utilization attendance and utilization reports and quarterly headcount forecast refreshes.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools in Looker, Tableau and other platforms.
- Contribute to Portfolio Insights sessions and executive-level documentation.
- Support the development and maintenance of the PM microsite and reference toolkit, ensuring planners globally have access to current resources.
-
Collaborate with the PM Data & Systems Team to ensure the health, accuracy, and scalability of Portfolio Management's analytics infrastructure: including CAFM systems (Serraview/Eptura), sensor platforms (Freespace), and integrated data pipelines.
-
AI-Powered Tools & Innovation
-
Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for data analytics initiatives.
- Engage in the development and iteration of AI-powered tools within PM workflows: attendance forecasting, floor plan analysis, scenario planning, and reporting automation.
- Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and proactively identify opportunities to apply them.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in space planning, occupancy strategy, or workplace analytics.
- Demonstrated experience from tactical, site-level work to global portfolio responsibilities.

- Proven experience building and maintaining tools using AI, with strong AI proficiency across relevant use cases: floor plan analysis, attendance forecasting, scenario planning, and reporting automation.
- Expertise in Looker and Tableau, with a track record of building interactive, insight-driven dashboards.
- Experience with CAFM systems, occupancy sensor and meeting room booking technology and data.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets for advanced data analysis.
- Based in Los Angeles, CA, Los Gatos, CA or New York, NY office, with the ability to work in-office 3 days per week.

Tips for Finding Strategic Business Development Jobs at Netflix
Frame your experience around content partnerships
Netflix's business development team focuses heavily on licensing, co-productions, and platform distribution deals. Tailor your resume to show deal structure, partner negotiation, and revenue impact in media or technology contexts, not generic BD work.
Identify your visa category before applying
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT among others. Knowing which category applies to your nationality and degree lets you answer recruiter questions about authorization confidently and avoids delays once an offer is on the table.
Target roles that specify global or APAC partnership scope
Netflix's BD hiring often segments by region and content vertical. Roles with international scope are more likely to attract and retain candidates who need sponsorship, since those positions justify the employer's investment in the immigration process.
Align your application timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Starting your Netflix job search by late fall of the prior year gives you enough runway to receive an offer, file an LCA with DOL, and register before the window closes.
Use Migrate Mate to find open BD roles at Netflix with confirmed sponsorship
Filtering by visa type and role category saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying and waiting for recruiter callbacks. Migrate Mate surfaces Strategic Business Development openings at Netflix where sponsorship is already part of the hiring scope.
Prepare to address nonimmigrant intent at interview stage
Netflix's recruiting process for senior BD roles can include conversations about long-term team structure. If you're on an E-3 or TN, be ready to explain your status clearly. Some Netflix roles also have paths to Green Card sponsorship via EB-2 or EB-3 PERM after a period of employment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. Netflix participates in the annual H-1B cap registration process and also sponsors cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're targeting a role that starts outside the October 1 window, an H-1B transfer is often the faster path.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly sponsor for Strategic Business Development roles?
Netflix sponsors a range of visa categories for this function, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For longer-term employment, Netflix also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, typically via the PERM labor certification process filed with DOL.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers site, where BD roles are listed by region and content vertical. You can also find open positions with confirmed sponsorship scope through Migrate Mate, which filters by visa type and company. Tailoring your application to show deal experience in streaming, technology, or media partnerships significantly improves your chances of moving past the initial screen.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Strategic Business Development roles?
Netflix typically looks for candidates with a background in media, technology, or management consulting, combined with demonstrated experience structuring and closing complex commercial deals. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is common at the senior level. For visa eligibility, your degree field generally needs to align with the role under USCIS specialty occupation standards, so a business, economics, or related degree is the strongest foundation.
How do I time my job search if I need visa sponsorship for a Netflix BD role?
Your ideal timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders should apply six to nine months before OPT expires to allow time for an offer, LCA filing with DOL, and H-1B registration or cap-exempt petition. Candidates outside the U.S. should account for consular processing time after approval. Starting your search early and identifying roles with explicit sponsorship scope reduces the risk of gaps.
