Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding RN Staff Nurse Jobs at OhioHealth Jobs
Secure NCLEX and State Licensure Early
OhioHealth requires active Ohio RN licensure before any sponsorship conversation begins. Start the CGFNS credential evaluation and NCLEX pathway as early as possible since delays here push back your entire timeline by months.
Target Units with Persistent Staffing Gaps
OhioHealth consistently posts RN Staff Nurse openings across med-surg, telemetry, and critical care units. Apply to departments with high posting frequency, as those hiring managers have more urgency and greater willingness to move forward with sponsorship candidates.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Active Sponsorship Openings
Search RN Staff Nurse roles at OhioHealth directly on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions open to visa sponsorship. This saves time you would otherwise spend applying to roles where sponsorship is not on the table.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Before Accepting an Offer
Ask the recruiter explicitly whether OhioHealth will cover PERM labor certification and eventual Green Card filing, not just initial H-1B sponsorship. The answer shapes whether this role serves your long-term U.S. work authorization goals.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Timeline for Nurses
OhioHealth commonly pursues EB-3 sponsorship for nursing staff. The PERM process with DOL can take over a year before the I-140 petition is even filed. Factor this into your authorization timeline so you are not caught between statuses.
Prepare a U.S.-Format Resume Highlighting Clinical Hours
OhioHealth nurse recruiters review clinical volume, unit type, and shift experience. Translate your patient-to-nurse ratios and procedure experience into U.S. clinical terminology so your resume reads as familiar, not foreign, to the hiring team.

Find RN Staff Nurse at OhioHealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does OhioHealth sponsor H-1B visas for RN Staff Nurses?
Yes, OhioHealth sponsors H-1B visas for qualified RN Staff Nurses. Because nursing falls under specialty occupation criteria, your degree must align with the role. OhioHealth's recruitment team works with immigration counsel to file the H-1B petition, but you need active Ohio RN licensure and a confirmed job offer before the process begins.
Which visa types are commonly used for RN Staff Nurse roles at OhioHealth?
OhioHealth sponsors RN Staff Nurses through H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nurses meeting NAFTA/USMCA criteria), J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. F-1 OPT and CPT are less common for nursing given licensure timing, but international nursing graduates from U.S. programs have used them during the credential completion phase.
What qualifications does OhioHealth expect for RN Staff Nurse candidates seeking sponsorship?
OhioHealth expects an accredited nursing degree, active or pending Ohio RN licensure, and clinical experience relevant to the unit you are applying for. For sponsorship candidates, completed CGFNS credential evaluation and demonstrated English proficiency testing such as IELTS or TOEFL are typically required before the offer stage.
How do I apply for RN Staff Nurse jobs at OhioHealth?
You can browse and apply for RN Staff Nurse openings at OhioHealth through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles specifically open to visa sponsorship. Once you identify a position, apply directly through OhioHealth's careers portal and flag your sponsorship needs clearly in your application or initial recruiter screen so the right team is looped in from the start.
How do I estimate the timeline from offer to work authorization at OhioHealth?
For H-1B, count on several months from offer to USCIS filing, with standard processing taking three to six months after that. If OhioHealth pursues EB-3 sponsorship, the DOL PERM audit window alone can run over a year. Building in buffer time and maintaining valid status throughout, such as through OPT extension or TN renewal, is essential.
