Align Your Certifications to PAN-OS Environments
Palo Alto Networks prioritizes hands-on experience with their own product stack. Certifications like PCNSE signal direct platform fluency and strengthen your case when recruiters are evaluating candidates for network engineering roles against internal benchmarks.
Target Openings Tied to Federal Contracts
Palo Alto Networks holds significant U.S. federal and public sector contracts. Network Engineer roles supporting government clients often carry stronger sponsorship urgency, since those teams need to fill headcount on defined timelines and can't wait out prolonged hiring cycles.
Confirm Sponsorship Before Your Technical Round
Sponsorship eligibility for Network Engineer roles can vary by team and location. Ask the recruiter directly during the initial screen whether the specific role is approved for your visa type, so you're not deep in technical interviews before a mismatch surfaces.
Understand How E-3 and TN Fit This Role
Australian and Canadian or Mexican candidates can pursue E-3 or TN status respectively, both of which move faster than H-1B and don't require a lottery. Network engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation under both categories when a relevant degree supports the role.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored Network Engineer Openings
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in cybersecurity is time-consuming without the right tools. Use Migrate Mate to surface Network Engineer roles at Palo Alto Networks that are open to sponsored candidates, so you're applying where sponsorship is already on the table.
Get Your PERM Timeline Right If You Want a Green Card
Palo Alto Networks sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Network Engineers, but PERM labor certification adds 12 to 18 months before USCIS even touches your petition. Factor that into your planning if you're on a nonimmigrant status with limited runway.

Find Network Engineer at Palo Alto Networks JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Palo Alto Networks sponsor H-1B visas for Network Engineers?
Yes, Palo Alto Networks sponsors H-1B visas for Network Engineers. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each April and also files cap-exempt petitions where eligible. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Palo Alto Networks can file an H-1B transfer without waiting for the next lottery cycle, which significantly shortens your timeline to starting the role.
How do I apply for Network Engineer jobs at Palo Alto Networks?
Applications go through the Palo Alto Networks careers portal, where you can filter by role and location. The process typically includes a recruiter screen, one or more technical interviews covering networking fundamentals and PAN-OS configuration, and a final round. Migrate Mate also lists open Network Engineer positions at Palo Alto Networks filtered for visa sponsorship, which helps you identify roles where sponsorship is already confirmed before you apply.
Which visa types does Palo Alto Networks commonly use for Network Engineers?
Palo Alto Networks sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Network Engineers at the nonimmigrant level. For permanent residence, the company files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and how urgently the role needs to be filled. Australian citizens are often steered toward the E-3 given its faster processing and no lottery requirement.
What qualifications does Palo Alto Networks expect for Network Engineer roles?
Most Network Engineer roles at Palo Alto Networks require a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation standard for visa sponsorship purposes. Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing protocols, and cloud networking is expected. Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks products, particularly Panorama and PAN-OS, strengthens your application significantly compared to candidates with only generic networking backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Network Engineer at Palo Alto Networks?
Timeline depends on the visa type. E-3 and TN processing can take two to four weeks for candidates outside the U.S. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can be authorized in as little as 15 business days with premium processing through USCIS. Cap-subject H-1B petitions require winning the April lottery, with work authorization starting no earlier than October 1 of that year.
