Description: Pana Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Emergency Department Team. As an Emergency Department nurse, you will be responsible for triaging, planning, and implementing care of the patient.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the examination, assessment, and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or advanced nurse practitioner.
- Room patients and accurately document medical history, chief complaints, medications, and other relevant information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Measure and record vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, administer medications and immunizations as ordered, and perform basic procedures within scope of practice.
- Coordinate patient care plans with multiple departments, including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, and home health services.
- Provide patient education on chronic disease management, preventive care, and prescribed treatment plans.
- Triage patient phone calls, address clinical inquiries, and relay provider instructions as appropriate.
- Prepare and stock exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and readiness of clinical areas.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage follow-up care, and ensure continuity of care through proactive outreach and communication.
Requirements
- Current Illinois license as a Registered Nurse
- Valid certification – current BLS, ACLS (and obtain PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire)
- 1-2 years prior experience preferred
