Job Description:
At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Product Compliance, the Senior Product Compliance Manager is a critical role responsible for building the compliance foundation for Remitly's Consumer Financial Services business. With SNPL live, no-fee debit launching in June 2026, and a roadmap running through credit, overdraft, shared accounts, and a full global banking suite by 2028, this is a build role — you'll serve as the primary compliance advisor to CFS product and engineering teams, turning regulatory requirements into competitive advantages rather than speed bumps.
This role is located in Arlington VA, and will be required to work 3+ days a week from our office there.
You Will:
- Advise on product launches: Serve as the primary compliance advisor to CFS product and engineering teams, conducting regulatory assessments of new product proposals and establishing phase gate governance frameworks to ensure compliant-by-design launches.
- Own the US regulatory framework: Lead product compliance across FinCEN BSA/AML, Reg E, TILA/FCBA, UDAAP, state money transmitter licensing, and emerging earned wage access laws — with an eye toward Canada (FINTRAC, RPAA) and global expansion milestones.
- Monitor and manage change: Track regulatory developments across applicable jurisdictions, brief product teams, and drive roadmap adjustments as needed.
- Manage bank and channel partners: Serve as the compliance point of contact with bank partners and PSPs, own partner due diligence RFIs, and escalate and remediate control gaps identified through partner correspondence.
- Build compliance infrastructure: Develop policies, playbooks, and decision-escalation protocols for CFS products; lead relevant compliance committees and deliver training to product, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Oversee issue management: Manage the full issue lifecycle for CFS banking products — from identification through remediation — and support the Global Testing team on product-specific compliance testing programs.
You Have:
- Experience: 7+ years in product compliance, regulatory counsel, or compliance advisory roles in fintech or financial services, with a strong track record of enabling products in a compliant way.
- Regulatory depth: Hands-on experience with US banking product compliance — debit/prepaid cards, consumer credit, stored value, or payments products (Reg E, TILA/FCBA, UDAAP, BSA/AML).
- Cross-functional fluency: Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable guidance for product managers and engineers.
- Analytical range: Comfort navigating regulatory ambiguity and synthesizing multi-jurisdictional requirements across licensing, consumer protection, AML/sanctions, and privacy — simultaneously.
- Project management: Strong ability to prioritize across a fast-moving product roadmap without dropping threads.
- Preferred: JD or equivalent; experience with US money transmission licensing or BaaS/sponsor bank models; CRCM or CAMS certification.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $188,000-$235,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Your recruiter can share more information about medical benefits offered, as well as other financial benefits and total compensation components offered with this role.

Target engineering and product roles first
Remitly's sponsorship history skews heavily toward technical and product roles. If your background is in software engineering, data science, or product management, you're applying in the departments where Remitly has the strongest sponsorship track record.
Understand which visas Remitly actually files
Remitly sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3, TN, and Green Card pathways. Knowing which visa applies to your situation before you apply lets you ask informed questions during interviews and signals you've done your homework.
Apply early in the H-1B season if you need lottery selection
If you need H-1B cap sponsorship, timing matters. Remitly has a pattern of filing during the standard March registration window, so identifying open roles and making contact well before then gives you the best shot.
Australians and Canadians should flag their visa category upfront
Remitly sponsors E-3 and TN visas, which are faster and cheaper for employers than H-1B. If you're Australian or Canadian, mentioning your eligibility early can reduce employer hesitation around sponsorship complexity in fintech hiring.
Leverage Remitly's fintech mission in your application
Remitly serves immigrant communities directly through its remittance product. Candidates who connect their personal immigration experience or global perspective to that mission often resonate more strongly with Remitly's hiring teams.
Use a platform that shows verified sponsorship history
Not every fintech company that talks about diversity actually sponsors visas. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and confirm Remitly's active track record before investing time in an application.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Remitly sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Remitly sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple years. The company also files for H-1B1 visas, which are available to nationals of Singapore and Chile. Sponsorship is most common in technical functions including software engineering, data, and product. If you're H-1B visa cap-dependent, plan to engage with Remitly well ahead of the March registration window.
What visa types does Remitly sponsor?
Remitly sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, and TN visa for work authorization, and pursues Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for longer-term employees. F-1 OPT candidates are also considered. The breadth of visa types reflects Remitly's international hiring across engineering, finance, and operations, and makes it a meaningful option for job seekers from Australia, Canada, Singapore, and beyond.
Which roles at Remitly are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, data science, and product management roles account for the bulk of Remitly's sponsorship activity, which is typical for a fintech company at its scale. Finance, compliance, and operations roles have also seen sponsorship, though less frequently. Roles that require highly specialized or technical skills in areas like payments infrastructure, machine learning, or regulatory compliance tend to be the strongest candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Remitly?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at verified sponsoring companies like Remitly, filtered specifically for international candidates who need visa support. Rather than sorting through job postings with no sponsorship clarity, you can search Remitly's active openings on Migrate Mate and see which roles align with your visa category. It's the most direct way to identify opportunities where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Remitly?
Come in with clarity on your visa situation and a role that aligns with Remitly's core technical or financial functions. Remitly's product serves immigrant and international communities, so candidates who bring relevant lived experience or a genuine connection to the mission often stand out. If you qualify for E-3 or TN, flagging that early reduces friction for the hiring team since those pathways are faster to execute than H-1B sponsorship.
