Translate your retail credentials into U.S. formats
Sephora's hiring team reviews resumes built around U.S. retail KPIs, such as conversion rate, basket size, and team scheduling. Reframe your international management experience using these metrics before applying.
Target stores with high leadership turnover
Sephora's flagship and freestanding store locations in high-traffic markets fill Assistant Manager roles more frequently than mall locations. Research which markets are actively posting and concentrate your applications there.
Clarify your visa situation before the first interview
Sephora's retail HR teams are not always immigration specialists. Bring a one-page summary of your current status, authorized end date, and the H-1B or EB sponsorship path you're seeking, so the conversation stays on track.
Understand how H-1B applies to retail management
Assistant Manager roles can qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B if the position requires a bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field. Confirm with USCIS criteria that your offered role meets this standard before your employer files.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring retail employers
Many Sephora Assistant Manager listings do not flag sponsorship eligibility in the posting itself. Use Migrate Mate to identify which open roles at Sephora are tied to verified sponsorship history and apply directly through the platform.
Start the PERM process conversation early for permanent residency
If your goal is a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, raise it once you have an offer in hand. PERM labor certification through DOL adds significant lead time, and retail employers with immigration programs are accustomed to starting it alongside H-1B filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sephora sponsor H-1B visas for Assistant Manager - Sales?
Yes, Sephora sponsors H-1B visas for Assistant Manager - Sales roles. The position needs to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business or retail management. Sephora's corporate HR team handles immigration filings, so confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Assistant Manager - Sales jobs at Sephora?
You can apply through Sephora's careers site or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Sephora's open Assistant Manager - Sales roles alongside verified sponsorship history. When applying, make sure your resume reflects U.S. retail management terminology and highlights measurable outcomes like team performance and sales results, since Sephora's hiring team screens for those specifically.
Which visa types does Sephora commonly use for Assistant Manager - Sales roles?
Sephora sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories for this role. H-1B is the most common starting point for candidates already in the U.S. on student or other work visas. EB-2 and EB-3 apply when the employer is willing to sponsor permanent residency, which typically follows an H-1B period.
What qualifications does Sephora expect for Assistant Manager - Sales candidates seeking sponsorship?
Sephora typically looks for a bachelor's degree and prior retail or beauty industry management experience. Candidates pursuing H-1B sponsorship need a degree in a field directly tied to the role, such as business administration or marketing. Practical experience leading sales teams, coaching associates, and driving conversion metrics on the floor carries significant weight in the selection process.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship with a Sephora offer?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so an offer needs to be in place well before the April filing window. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and expiration date. Sephora's immigration team works within these USCIS deadlines, so flagging your status timeline to your recruiter as early as possible helps align the offer with the filing schedule.
