Align your credentials to TD's deal flow
TD Securities is active in debt capital markets, M&A advisory, and structured products. Frame your academic background and any prior internship experience around these verticals, not generic finance skills, before you apply.
Target roles that match your visa category
Finance Associate positions at TD Securities have been sponsored under H-1B and E-3 pathways. If you're Australian, the E-3 avoids the lottery entirely, meaning you can start much sooner than H-1B-dependent peers.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Finance Associate roles
TD Securities posts Finance Associate openings across multiple locations and functions. Use Migrate Mate to browse and filter current openings specifically tagged for visa sponsorship, so you're not manually sifting through listings that won't support your status.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
TD Securities must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B or E-3 petition moves forward. Understanding what prevailing wage level your role falls under helps you negotiate confidently and avoids surprises during the offer process.
Time your application around TD's analyst and associate cycles
Large investment banks like TD Securities recruit Finance Associates on structured timelines, often locking in candidates six to twelve months before start dates. Applying late in the cycle significantly reduces your sponsorship options, especially for roles requiring H-1B cap filing.
Get your transcript and degree equivalency evaluated early
USCIS requires your degree to directly support a specialty occupation finding for Finance Associate roles. If you completed a three-year international degree, get a credential evaluation done before you receive an offer so the petition isn't delayed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does TD Securities sponsor H-1B visas for Finance Associates?
Yes, TD Securities sponsors H-1B visas for Finance Associate roles. The H-1B is a common pathway for international candidates entering capital markets and investment banking functions. Because H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, timing your application to align with TD's recruiting cycle matters. Roles that fall outside the cap, such as positions at qualifying nonprofit or research affiliates, are rare in this context.
Which visa types are commonly used for Finance Associate roles at TD Securities?
Finance Associate roles at TD Securities are typically sponsored under H-1B, E-3, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. Australian citizens have a meaningful advantage through the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be obtained directly at a U.S. consulate. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT can often bridge to an H-1B or E-3 once an offer is secured.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Finance Associate roles at TD Securities?
Finance Associate roles at TD Securities typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a closely related field. Many positions also prefer candidates with prior internship experience in investment banking, capital markets, or structured finance. Strong modeling skills, familiarity with debt or equity products, and CFA candidacy are frequently cited as differentiators. Your degree must directly support a specialty occupation determination for visa sponsorship to proceed.
How do I apply for Finance Associate jobs at TD Securities?
You can search and apply for Finance Associate openings at TD Securities through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm the role supports your immigration status before applying. TD Securities recruits on structured cycles, particularly for capital markets and investment banking roles, so monitoring openings early and applying before peak recruiting windows close improves your chances significantly.
How do I manage my visa timeline when pursuing a Finance Associate offer at TD Securities?
If you're on OPT, your 60-day grace period clock starts when employment ends, not when your OPT expires, so coordinating your start date carefully with TD's onboarding timeline is critical. For H-1B candidates, USCIS only accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start, meaning an offer needs to be in place well before March registration opens. E-3 visa applicants can move faster since there's no cap or lottery.
