Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission is restricted to occupations explicitly listed under USMCA, so confirm your role qualifies before applying. Healthcare roles like registered nurse, physical therapist, and medical technologist are covered, but clinical support titles often aren't. Check your exact job title against the USMCA professions list before reaching out to AccentCare recruiters.
Verify your license is U.S. board-recognized
AccentCare operates in multiple states, and each requires active state licensure for clinical hires. Canadian nurses must pass NCLEX and hold a state RN license before AccentCare can issue a TN support letter. Start the licensing process early since delays in credential verification are the most common bottleneck for healthcare TN candidates.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
AccentCare's offer letter is the document you present at the port of entry or consulate. It must specify your job title, duties, qualifications, and that the role is professional-level work. Ask AccentCare's HR team explicitly to include language confirming the position meets TN profession criteria, since incomplete letters cause border delays.
Search AccentCare's live TN job listings on Migrate Mate
Target AccentCare roles verified for TN eligibility rather than broad job board searches. Migrate Mate filters AccentCare's postings by visa type, so you see only positions the company actively supports for TN admission, saving you from applying to roles that don't qualify or require a different status.
Prepare for state-level background screening early
AccentCare provides home-based care, so all clinical hires clear state background checks and drug screening before their start date. These checks can add two to four weeks post-offer. Time your border crossing accordingly so your TN admission date aligns with your actual start date, not just the offer date.
Bring original credential documents to your port of entry
Canadian nationals entering as TN professionals are admitted by CBP officers at the border, not through a prior USCIS process. Bring your original degree, state license, AccentCare offer letter, and any professional certification originals. Copies alone can result in secondary inspection and delay your admission by hours or longer.
AccentCare TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does AccentCare sponsor TN visas?
Yes, AccentCare supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare roles. AccentCare doesn't file a petition with USCIS for TN status. Instead, the company issues a support letter that you present at the port of entry or U.S. consulate. Your TN status is granted directly based on your credentials and that offer letter.
Which roles at AccentCare qualify for TN admission?
AccentCare's TN hires are concentrated in clinical roles that appear on the USMCA professions list, including registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical technologists. Administrative, aide, and coordinator roles typically don't qualify for TN since they don't map to a recognized USMCA profession. Confirm your specific title qualifies before beginning the process.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an AccentCare offer?
After AccentCare issues your offer letter, you gather your supporting documents: degree transcripts, state license, and professional certifications. Canadian nationals present these at a U.S. port of entry and are admitted on the spot if approved. Mexican nationals must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Mexico before traveling.
How long does TN admission at AccentCare typically take?
For Canadian nationals, the process at the port of entry typically takes a few hours on the day of crossing, assuming documents are complete. Mexican nationals face longer timelines depending on U.S. consulate appointment availability. The slower part for both nationalities is usually credential verification, state licensing, and AccentCare's internal onboarding and background screening steps.
How do I find AccentCare TN job openings as an international candidate?
Migrate Mate lists AccentCare positions filtered by visa type, so you can identify roles the company supports for TN admission without filtering through hundreds of irrelevant postings. Once you find a matching role, apply directly and notify the recruiting team of your TN status early in the process to confirm the position qualifies before investing time in the full application.
How does TN visa admission work at AccentCare?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from AccentCare, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
