Match your credentials to USMCA categories
TN eligibility at Lurie Children's depends entirely on your role falling within the USMCA professions list. Review O*NET occupation profiles for your target role to confirm the degree requirements align with what USCIS recognizes as a qualifying TN profession in healthcare.
Target clinical departments with recurring openings
Lurie Children's consistently hires for pediatric nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medical imaging. Focusing your application on departments with ongoing needs increases your odds of reaching a recruiter who already understands the TN support process for healthcare professionals.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
Your offer letter from Lurie Children's must state your job title, a description matching a USMCA profession, your credentials, and that the role is temporary. Canadian citizens present this at the border; Mexican citizens use it for their consular appointment. Vague letters cause denials.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiations
While TN doesn't require a formal Labor Condition Application, your offered salary still signals legitimacy to border officers. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your occupation and metro area before negotiating, so your offer reflects market rates.
Use Migrate Mate to find Lurie Children's open TN roles
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and employer sponsorship history, so you can identify active openings at Lurie Children's that are realistic for TN candidates. Searching by hospital and role type surfaces positions already aligned with your credentials and authorization status.
Prepare credential verification documents in advance
Lurie Children's is a Joint Commission-accredited pediatric hospital, so clinical hires typically need state licensure, board certifications, or foreign credential evaluations ready before an offer is formalized. Delays in credential verification routinely push back start dates and complicate TN timing at the border.
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children'S Hospital Of Chicago TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Lurie Children's hires Canadian and Mexican nationals under TN status for qualifying healthcare roles. The hospital issues offer letters that TN candidates use at the port of entry or U.S. consulate. TN is treaty-based admission under USMCA, so there is no USCIS petition and no Labor Condition Application required from the employer.
Which roles at Lurie Children's typically qualify for TN status?
TN-eligible roles at Lurie Children's are concentrated in clinical and allied health areas: registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical laboratory technologists, and radiologic technologists are among the most common. All roles must correspond to a profession explicitly listed in the USMCA TN professions schedule, and your credentials must match the degree requirement for that category.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a job offer from Lurie Children's?
Once Lurie Children's extends a formal offer, the hospital provides a support letter confirming your job title, role description, and qualifications. Canadian citizens present this letter along with credential documentation at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican citizens schedule a nonimmigrant visa appointment at a U.S. consulate and present the same documentation there.
How long does TN admission take when starting at Lurie Children's?
Canadian citizens admitted at the border can receive TN status the same day if documentation is complete and consistent. Mexican citizens applying through a U.S. consulate face appointment scheduling timelines that vary by location and season. Building in at least four to six weeks from offer to start date gives reasonable buffer for either path, though consular waits can extend this.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Lurie Children's?
Migrate Mate lets you search Lurie Children's open positions filtered by visa type, so you can identify roles already aligned with TN sponsorship history. Cross-reference job titles against the USMCA professions list before applying to confirm your target role qualifies, and verify your specific credentials match the degree requirements USCIS uses to evaluate TN admission.
How does TN visa admission work at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children'S Hospital Of Chicago?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children'S Hospital Of Chicago, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
