Match your credentials to USMCA's list
TN eligibility is defined by the USMCA professions list, not ARH's job postings. Verify your specific occupation qualifies before applying, healthcare roles like RN, physical therapist, and medical technologist are covered, but not every clinical title is.
Target ARH's high-demand service lines
ARH's rural hospital network faces persistent staffing shortages in nursing, respiratory therapy, and rehabilitation services. Focus your outreach on those departments, where hiring managers are most likely to move quickly on candidates who can start without a lottery or petition delay.
Prepare your credential verification early
U.S. state licensing boards and credential evaluation bodies can take weeks to process foreign nursing or therapy credentials. Start this before your offer letter is issued so ARH's HR team isn't waiting on you when they're ready to finalize the support letter.
Confirm the offer letter covers all TN requirements
ARH's offer letter must state your professional capacity, prearranged employer details, anticipated length of stay, and that the position is not displacing a U.S. worker. Review it against USCIS's TN documentation checklist before you travel to the port of entry or consulate.
Research ARH's verified hiring history on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to review ARH's documented sponsorship activity across visa categories. Seeing which roles and locations ARH has hired for helps you target your application to positions where TN-supported hiring is already an established part of their recruitment process.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wages
Even though TN doesn't require a formal LCA, underpaying TN workers can create compliance issues for employers. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm ARH's offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location before accepting.
Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) sponsor TN visas?
ARH supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in eligible USMCA healthcare occupations. Because TN is treaty-based admission rather than an employer petition, ARH's role is to issue a qualifying offer letter that you present at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. There's no USCIS petition and no lottery involved.
Which roles at ARH typically qualify for TN admission?
ARH's TN hires are concentrated in clinical roles that appear on the USMCA professions list, including registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, and medical technologists. Administrative and non-clinical positions generally don't qualify. Check the USMCA TN professions list against your specific job title before applying to confirm eligibility.
How do I start the TN process with ARH as my employer?
Once ARH extends a job offer, their HR or immigration team prepares a support letter documenting your role, qualifications, and employment terms. Canadian citizens present this letter at a U.S. land border or airport port of entry. Mexican nationals apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate first. USCIS does not process TN admissions in advance.
How long does TN admission take when working with ARH?
For Canadian citizens, TN admission is typically granted at the port of entry on the same day if documentation is complete, there's no advance filing period. Mexican nationals should expect additional lead time for a consular appointment. Factor in credential verification and state licensing timelines, which can add several weeks before your start date.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at ARH?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at employers with documented sponsorship activity, making it easier to identify ARH positions where TN-supported hiring aligns with active recruitment. Focus on ARH's rural Appalachian facilities, where clinical staffing needs are most acute and hiring teams are accustomed to working with international candidates on TN status.
How does TN visa admission work at Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH)?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH), while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
