Verify your role appears on the USMCA list
TN admission is only available for occupations explicitly listed under USMCA. Before applying to Bayhealth, cross-reference your job title against the professions list. Clinical roles like RN, physical therapist, and medical technologist are commonly covered, but not every healthcare title qualifies.
Request a role-specific offer letter early
Bayhealth's offer letter must state your job title, duties, and TN category clearly. Ask HR to specify the qualifying USMCA profession by name, not just your internal title. Mismatches between your job description and the listed category are a leading cause of TN denials at the border.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wages
Before accepting an offer, run your occupation and Delaware county through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm Bayhealth's compensation meets or exceeds the prevailing wage. Underpayment relative to local market rates can complicate future renewals and status changes, even if TN admission itself isn't wage-certified.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Bayhealth's active TN-eligible openings
Search Bayhealth's verified job listings on Migrate Mate to filter roles by TN-eligible occupation category. This lets you focus your application on positions already aligned with USMCA professions, saving time you'd otherwise spend screening postings that don't match your qualifying title.
Gather credential documentation before your border appointment
Bayhealth's clinical roles require licensure or certification documentation at the port of entry. Bring your nursing license, degree transcripts, and any CGFNS or state board certification letters. CBP officers evaluate credentials on the spot, so organize originals and copies in a dedicated folder before traveling.
Plan your TN renewal timeline around your employment contract
TN status is granted in increments tied to your employment period. If Bayhealth issues a two-year contract, your TN admission period typically mirrors it. Start gathering renewal documents at least 90 days before expiration so a delayed border crossing doesn't interrupt your work authorization.
Bayhealth TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bayhealth sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Bayhealth Medical Center supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals by issuing the offer letters required at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. TN is treaty-based under USMCA, so Bayhealth doesn't file a petition with USCIS. You present the offer letter yourself when seeking admission in TN status.
Which roles at Bayhealth typically qualify for TN admission?
Clinical and allied health positions are the most common TN-eligible roles at Bayhealth. Registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and pharmacists all appear on the USMCA professions list. Administrative or non-clinical titles generally don't qualify, so confirm your specific job title maps to a listed USMCA occupation before applying.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Bayhealth offer?
Once Bayhealth extends an offer, request a support letter on company letterhead that describes your role, duties, and the qualifying USMCA profession. Canadians present this letter directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a consular appointment at a U.S. embassy. You'll also need your degree, license, and identity documents at the time of admission.
How long does TN admission at Bayhealth take?
Canadian applicants who present at the border can receive TN admission the same day if documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate typically wait several weeks for an interview appointment, depending on post workload. Build in extra time if you need credential evaluations or state licensure transferred before your start date.
How do I find TN-eligible job openings at Bayhealth?
Migrate Mate filters Bayhealth listings by TN-eligible occupation category, so you can target roles that already align with USMCA professions rather than manually reviewing every posting. Once you identify a match, confirm the job description reflects the qualifying duties before requesting an offer letter from Bayhealth's HR team.
How does TN visa admission work at Bayhealth?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Bayhealth, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
