Match your credentials to USMCA professions
Beth Israel Lahey Health hires across nursing, medical technology, and allied health, but TN eligibility is defined by the USMCA professions list, not the employer. Confirm your occupation appears on that list and that your degree directly matches the role before applying.
Target departments with recurring TN hires
Clinical laboratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, and diagnostic imaging are among the specialties where large health systems consistently issue TN offer letters. Prioritize roles in these departments at Beth Israel Lahey Health to align with their documented hiring patterns for TN-eligible professionals.
Request a TN-specific offer letter early
Beth Israel Lahey Health's offer letter must state your job title, duties, expected duration, and professional category under USMCA. Ask HR explicitly for a TN support letter once you have a verbal offer, so you aren't navigating that request after a start date is already set.
Prepare credential documentation before the border
Canadian nationals present TN documentation at a port of entry without a prior USCIS petition. Have your degree transcripts, professional license where required, and the offer letter organized in a single packet. Border officers don't schedule follow-up appointments if documentation is incomplete.
Use Migrate Mate to verify role eligibility beforehand
Before your interview, confirm that your specific job title at Beth Israel Lahey Health maps correctly to an approved USMCA profession. Migrate Mate lets you cross-reference the role against TN-eligible occupation categories so you're not relying on HR's interpretation of your classification.
Plan TN renewals around Beth Israel contract cycles
TN status is granted in increments tied to your employment duration, typically up to three years. Large health systems like Beth Israel Lahey Health often use multi-year contracts, so align your renewal timeline with your employment agreement to avoid gaps between admission periods.
Beth Israel Lahey Health TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Beth Israel Lahey Health sponsor TN visas?
Beth Israel Lahey Health supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions, primarily across clinical and allied health roles. It issues offer letters that you present at the border or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, and eligibility depends on both the role and your credentials matching an approved USMCA profession category.
Which roles at Beth Israel Lahey Health typically qualify for TN status?
Clinical laboratory technologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, registered nurses, and diagnostic imaging professionals are among the most common TN-eligible roles at large academic health systems like Beth Israel Lahey Health. Your specific job title must map to a named USMCA profession, so review the official list alongside the posted job description before applying.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a job offer from Beth Israel Lahey Health?
Once you have a verbal offer, ask HR to provide a formal TN support letter specifying your title, duties, USMCA profession category, and intended employment period. Canadian nationals then present this letter at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate. You can use Migrate Mate to review your documentation before your border or consulate appointment.
How long does TN admission take at a port of entry for Beth Israel Lahey Health hires?
Canadian nationals entering at a port of entry typically receive a decision the same day, often within a few hours, assuming documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate should expect processing to take longer, with appointment availability varying by location. Build at least two to four weeks of lead time before your intended start date to accommodate delays.
What should I do if my job title at Beth Israel Lahey Health doesn't clearly match the USMCA professions list?
Request an O*NET occupation profile for your role and compare the listed duties against the USMCA profession descriptions. If there's ambiguity, ask Beth Israel Lahey Health's HR or legal team to clarify how they classify the position. Proceeding with a mismatched title can result in TN denial at the border, so resolving this before travel is essential.
How does TN visa admission work at Beth Israel Lahey Health?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Beth Israel Lahey Health, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
