Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN status only covers roles on the USMCA professions list, so confirm your occupation qualifies before applying. Billings Clinic hires for clinical roles like registered nurses, physical therapists, and medical technologists that map directly to listed TN categories.
Verify your degree meets U.S. equivalency standards
Billings Clinic's credentialing team will review your foreign degree before issuing a TN support letter. A Canadian three-year nursing degree typically qualifies, but you'll need a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized agency if your transcripts aren't immediately recognizable to U.S. standards.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
Billings Clinic's offer letter must specify your job title, proffered wage, employment duration, and confirmation that the role requires TN-eligible qualifications. Gaps in any of these fields are the most common reason border officers ask clarifying questions or defer admission.
Target departments with consistent clinical demand
Billings Clinic's acute care, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging departments see recurring openings suited to TN candidates. Search Migrate Mate to identify current roles at Billings Clinic that align with your TN-eligible occupation before reaching out to the recruitment team.
Prepare your border documents for Canadian entry
Canadian citizens can activate TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa appointment. Bring your Billings Clinic offer letter, proof of Canadian citizenship, your professional license, and supporting credential documents in a single organized packet to avoid delays at inspection.
Check your occupation's prevailing wage before negotiating
Your offered salary affects the credibility of your TN admission documents. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your specific role in the Billings, Montana area, and confirm Billings Clinic's offer meets or exceeds that threshold before you finalize your employment agreement.
Billings Clinic TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Billings Clinic sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Billings Clinic supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican professionals in eligible healthcare roles. The clinic issues offer letters that TN candidates use at the U.S. border or consulate. Billings Clinic does not file a USCIS petition for TN status because TN is a treaty-based admission, not an employer-sponsored petition.
Which roles at Billings Clinic are eligible for TN status?
TN status covers only USMCA-listed professions, so eligible roles at Billings Clinic typically include registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, medical technologists, and similar licensed clinical positions. Roles that don't correspond to a recognized USMCA profession, such as general administrative staff, don't qualify for TN regardless of employer support.
How do I apply for TN status to work at Billings Clinic?
Once Billings Clinic extends a qualifying offer, the clinic issues a support letter outlining your role, qualifications, and employment terms. Canadian citizens present that letter at a U.S. port of entry to receive TN status on the spot. Mexican citizens must schedule a TN visa appointment at a U.S. consulate before traveling.
How long does TN admission take for Billings Clinic positions?
Canadian applicants typically complete the entire process at the border in under an hour if documents are complete and organized. Mexican applicants face longer timelines tied to U.S. consulate appointment availability, which varies by location and season. TN status is granted in two-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as the qualifying employment continues.
How do I find current TN-eligible job openings at Billings Clinic?
Search Migrate Mate to browse verified TN-eligible roles at Billings Clinic filtered by occupation. From there, apply directly and confirm with the recruiter that the role supports TN admission. Having that confirmation early prevents delays when Billings Clinic prepares your offer letter and credentialing documentation later in the hiring process.
How does TN visa admission work at Billings Clinic?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Billings Clinic, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
