Verify your occupation is USMCA-listed
TN admission is limited to specific professions defined under USMCA. Before applying to Boston Children's Hospital, confirm your exact role, such as Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist, appears on the USMCA professions list and matches your credentials precisely.
Target roles requiring specialty clinical credentials
Boston Children's Hospital's pediatric focus means many open roles require subspecialty certifications beyond a standard degree. Highlight credentials like PICU or NICU experience in your application, since these signal direct fit for the clinical departments most active in hiring TN professionals.
Request a role-specific offer letter early
Boston Children's Hospital's offer letter for TN admission must state your job title, the USMCA profession category, your qualifications, and employment terms. Ask HR to confirm the letter aligns with CBP requirements before your border or consulate appointment to avoid delays.
Use Migrate Mate to find open TN-eligible roles
Searching for TN-eligible positions at large hospital systems is easier when you filter by verified sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces Boston Children's Hospital roles alongside employer hiring data, so you can identify which departments are actively hiring TN professionals without guessing.
Align your educational credentials to U.S. standards
CBP officers assess whether your degree meets the U.S. equivalency standard for the TN profession category. Use O*NET to review the typical education requirements for your role and obtain a credential evaluation from a recognized body if your degree was earned outside the U.S. or Canada.
Prepare for TN admission at the port of entry
Canadian nationals present their offer letter and supporting documents directly to CBP at the border; no prior USCIS filing is needed. Bring your degree certificates, professional licenses, and the offer letter from Boston Children's Hospital in a single organized packet to streamline the officer's review.
Boston Children's Hospital TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Children's Hospital sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Boston Children's Hospital supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in eligible USMCA occupations. The hospital issues offer letters for roles in clinical, research, and allied health departments. TN is treaty-based admission, so there's no USCIS petition involved. The applicant presents the offer letter and credentials at a U.S. port of entry or consulate.
Which roles at Boston Children's Hospital are typically eligible for TN admission?
Clinical roles are the most common pathway. Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Medical Technologists, and Pharmacists frequently align with USMCA profession categories. Research and scientific positions may also qualify depending on degree and job duties. Confirm your specific title against the USMCA list before applying, as not all healthcare roles are covered.
How do I start the TN process with Boston Children's Hospital?
After receiving a job offer, work with Boston Children's Hospital's HR team to obtain a role-specific offer letter that names the USMCA profession category, your qualifications, and the terms of employment. Canadian applicants then present this letter at the border; Mexican applicants apply at a U.S. consulate. No USCIS filing or Labor Condition Application is required for TN.
How long does TN admission processing take at Boston Children's Hospital?
Canadian nationals with complete documentation are typically processed at the port of entry the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate face appointment wait times that vary by location and season. Boston Children's Hospital's HR team can often provide documentation quickly once an offer is confirmed, so the offer letter itself is rarely the bottleneck.
How do I find TN-eligible job openings at Boston Children's Hospital?
Start by searching Boston Children's Hospital's careers page and filtering for clinical, research, or allied health roles that match your USMCA profession. Migrate Mate also surfaces TN-eligible positions at major hospital systems and shows employer hiring patterns by visa type, helping you identify active departments before you apply. Prioritize roles where your credentials align directly with a named USMCA occupation.
How does TN visa admission work at Boston Children's Hospital?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Boston Children's Hospital, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
