Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission is limited to occupations explicitly listed in the USMCA professions annex. Before applying to Cleveland Clinic, confirm your role qualifies by cross-referencing your job title with the official USMCA list and your O*NET occupation profile to verify the specialty designation.
Target departments with recurring TN hiring
Cleveland Clinic's highest TN activity clusters in clinical roles: registered nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and medical technologists. Filter your job search to these departments first, since their hiring managers have the most experience issuing TN support letters and moving candidates through onboarding.
Request a TN support letter before your border appointment
Cleveland Clinic's offer letter must detail your job title, USMCA profession category, salary, and employment duration. Canadian citizens present this at a port of entry; Mexican citizens need it for a consulate appointment. Confirm with your HR contact that the letter matches CBP's documentation expectations exactly.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified TN employer history
Before committing to an application, look up Cleveland Clinic's TN hiring history by department and role on Migrate Mate. Seeing which specific job titles have been supported for TN admission helps you tailor your application to positions where the clinic has a clear, documented pattern of success.
Verify your wage against OFLC prevailing rates
Cleveland Clinic sets compensation by internal pay bands, but your offered salary should align with prevailing wage levels for your occupation and location. Run your job title through OFLC Wage Search before your border or consulate appointment so you can address any wage-related questions with confidence.
Prepare for credential verification unique to healthcare
Clinical TN roles at Cleveland Clinic require active U.S. state licensure or proof of eligibility before your start date. For nurses, that means passing NCLEX and obtaining an Ohio RN license. Factor in licensing timelines when negotiating your start date with the recruiter.
Cleveland Clinic TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cleveland Clinic sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Cleveland Clinic hires TN professionals for eligible USMCA roles and issues the offer letters Canadian and Mexican nationals need for TN admission. Because TN is a treaty-based status rather than an employer petition, Cleveland Clinic provides documentation and support rather than filing on your behalf. The worker presents the offer letter directly at the border or U.S. consulate.
Which roles at Cleveland Clinic typically qualify for TN admission?
TN-eligible positions at Cleveland Clinic concentrate in USMCA-listed healthcare occupations: registered nurses, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, medical technologists, and certain scientific research roles. Roles in general administration or support functions that don't appear on the USMCA professions list do not qualify, regardless of how the job is titled internally.
How do I start the TN process with Cleveland Clinic?
After receiving a written job offer, work with Cleveland Clinic's HR or international hiring team to obtain a TN support letter. The letter must specify your USMCA profession category, job duties, salary, and intended employment period. Canadian citizens then present it at a port of entry; Mexican citizens schedule a consulate appointment. No USCIS petition is involved.
How long does TN admission take for Cleveland Clinic positions?
Canadian citizens approved at the border receive TN status the same day. Mexican citizens applying at a U.S. consulate typically wait one to several weeks for an appointment, depending on the consulate's schedule. Cleveland Clinic's HR team can usually prepare the offer letter within a week of a verbal acceptance, so consulate wait times are often the longest variable.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Cleveland Clinic?
Search Cleveland Clinic's careers portal filtering by clinical and allied health job families, then cross-reference each title against the USMCA professions list to confirm eligibility before applying. Migrate Mate also surfaces Cleveland Clinic's TN hiring history by occupation, helping you identify which specific roles have a track record of successful TN admission and target your applications accordingly.
How does TN visa admission work at Cleveland Clinic?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Cleveland Clinic, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
