Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission covers a defined list of USMCA occupations, not every healthcare role. Confirm your specific job title maps to a qualifying profession before applying. Nurses, physical therapists, and medical technologists each have distinct credential requirements that McLeod Health's HR team will verify.
Target McLeod Health's clinical departments directly
McLeod Health's hiring patterns for TN-eligible professionals concentrate in acute care, rehabilitation, and diagnostic services. Apply to department-specific postings rather than generic listings. Hiring managers in clinical divisions are more familiar with TN admission requirements than centralized HR screening teams.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm McLeod Health's sponsorship history
Before investing time in an application, use Migrate Mate to review McLeod Health's verified sponsorship activity by occupation. This tells you which roles the system actively hires internationally, so you can align your application to positions with a real track record.
Prepare your credential verification documents early
McLeod Health will need proof your degree and license meet the USMCA profession's educational standard. Foreign credentials often require a course-by-course evaluation from a recognized agency. Start that process before your offer letter stage, as evaluations can take several weeks.
Understand what McLeod Health's offer letter must include
The offer letter McLeod Health issues is your primary TN admission document. It must state your job title, the specific USMCA profession category it falls under, your anticipated start date, and that the position is not permanent. Review the letter carefully before your border or consulate appointment.
Know your admission point options as a TN candidate
Canadian nationals present their offer letter and credentials directly at a port of entry without a consular appointment. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate and receive a TN visa stamp first. Confirm which path applies to your citizenship before scheduling anything with McLeod Health's onboarding team.
McLeod Health TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does McLeod Health sponsor TN visas?
McLeod Health hires TN professionals in qualifying USMCA occupations across its hospital system and affiliated clinics. It issues the offer letters Canadian and Mexican nationals need for TN admission at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, so the timeline is faster than H-1B visa sponsorship.
Which roles at McLeod Health are eligible for TN admission?
TN-eligible roles at McLeod Health align with the USMCA professions list. Clinical positions in nursing, physical and occupational therapy, medical technology, and pharmacology are among the most commonly filled through TN admission. Administrative or support roles generally don't qualify unless they map to a specific USMCA occupation by title and function.
How do I start the TN process with McLeod Health?
Secure a formal job offer first. McLeod Health then issues a support letter confirming your role, USMCA profession category, and employment terms. Canadian nationals bring this letter to a port of entry for same-day admission. Mexican nationals use it to apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate before traveling. USCIS is not involved in either process.
How long does TN admission take when working with McLeod Health?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission is typically granted on the day you present at the port of entry, assuming your documents are complete. Mexican nationals face a consular appointment wait, which varies by location and season. Either way, the process moves significantly faster than employer-sponsored H-1B or Green Card pathways, which involve USCIS processing queues.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at McLeod Health?
Search McLeod Health's careers portal filtering for clinical and allied health roles, then cross-reference each title against the USMCA professions list to confirm TN eligibility. Migrate Mate can help you identify which McLeod Health positions align with verified sponsorship activity, so you focus your applications on roles with a realistic path to TN admission.
How does TN visa admission work at McLeod Health?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from McLeod Health, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
