Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission at Moffitt Cancer Center is limited to occupations on the USMCA professions list. Cross-reference your degree and job title against that list before applying, since clinical and research roles in oncology settings often have specific credential requirements that border officers scrutinize closely.
Target oncology and research divisions directly
Moffitt's strongest TN hiring concentrates in its cancer research programs, clinical labs, and specialized nursing units. Applying to roles in these divisions positions you where the institution genuinely needs USMCA-eligible professionals, rather than departments where TN admission is less commonly supported.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Moffitt issues support letters that Canadian professionals present at the port of entry and Mexican professionals use at the U.S. consulate. Ask your recruiter to include your job title, degree requirement, USMCA category, and employment duration. Vague letters are the leading cause of TN delays at the border.
Verify your wage against OFLC Wage Search
Although TN does not require a Labor Condition Application, confirming your offered salary aligns with prevailing wages for your occupation and location strengthens your case. Use the OFLC Wage Search to benchmark before negotiating your offer, especially for specialist clinical or scientific roles in Tampa.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active TN employers
Before investing time in an application, confirm that Moffitt Cancer Center actively supports TN candidates in your specific role. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level visa sponsorship data so you can verify TN hiring patterns by occupation before reaching out to recruiters or submitting your materials.
Prepare your credential evaluation before interviewing
For roles requiring licensure, such as registered nurses or clinical lab scientists, Moffitt will need to verify your foreign credentials meet Florida state requirements. A CGFNS credential evaluation or equivalent assessment completed before your interview removes a common bottleneck in the offer and onboarding process.
Moffitt Cancer Center TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Moffitt Cancer Center sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Moffitt Cancer Center supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican professionals in USMCA-eligible occupations. The center issues offer letters that candidates present at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. TN is not a petition-based visa, so there is no USCIS filing involved on Moffitt's side.
Which roles at Moffitt Cancer Center typically qualify for TN admission?
Roles in clinical nursing, medical laboratory science, clinical research, and scientific or engineering positions tied to oncology programs are the most common TN-eligible occupations at Moffitt. Eligibility depends on whether the job title maps to the USMCA professions list and whether your degree matches the required field.
How do I start the TN process with Moffitt Cancer Center?
After receiving a job offer, request a detailed support letter from Moffitt's HR or legal team. Canadian citizens present that letter at the border without a prior visa appointment. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate. Moffitt does not file anything with USCIS, so the process moves faster than H-1B visa sponsorship.
How long does TN admission take for a Moffitt Cancer Center role?
Canadian professionals with a complete offer letter can receive TN admission at the border the same day. Mexican nationals go through consular processing, which typically takes one to three weeks depending on the consulate's appointment availability. Migrate Mate can help you confirm Moffitt's typical timelines by occupation before you begin.
Does Moffitt Cancer Center support TN renewals and long-term employment?
TN status is granted in increments and can be renewed without limit as long as you maintain a qualifying job with an eligible employer. Moffitt supports renewals for ongoing employees in USMCA-eligible roles. Canadian professionals can renew at the border, while Mexican nationals renew through consular appointment.
How does TN visa admission work at Moffitt Cancer Center?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Moffitt Cancer Center, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
