Match your credentials to USMCA's professions list
TN admission is only available for roles explicitly listed under USMCA, so confirm your occupation qualifies before applying to Munson Medical Center. Registered nurses, medical technologists, and pharmacists are among the healthcare roles that consistently appear on that list.
Request a USMCA-specific offer letter early
Munson Medical Center's offer letter must state your USMCA profession category, your professional credentials, and your intended U.S. work location. Ask HR explicitly for a TN support letter during the offer stage, not after you've accepted, to avoid delays at the border or consulate.
Verify your wage meets prevailing standards
Before your border or consulate appointment, run your offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for your specific occupation and the Traverse City, Michigan area. Officers can scrutinize wages on healthcare TN admissions, and arriving with documentation showing compliance strengthens your case.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Munson's open TN roles
Munson Medical Center posts TN-eligible clinical roles across multiple departments, but not every listing signals visa support. Migrate Mate filters employer job data by visa type so you can surface active TN-compatible openings at Munson without manually screening every posting.
Bring licensure documentation matched to your profession
Michigan requires active state licensure for most clinical roles, including registered nursing and pharmacy. Border officers reviewing healthcare TN admissions expect to see a valid Michigan license or a license application confirmation alongside your degree credentials and Munson's offer letter.
Prepare your O*NET occupation profile for the interview
If a border or consular officer questions whether your role qualifies, an O*NET occupation profile for your specific job title documents the degree requirements and professional scope. Healthcare roles at Munson that blend clinical and administrative duties benefit most from this supporting evidence.
Munson Medical Center TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Munson Medical Center sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Munson Medical Center supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in eligible healthcare roles. TN is not an employer petition, Munson issues an offer letter that you present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. The role must correspond to a USMCA-listed profession such as registered nurse, medical technologist, or pharmacist.
Which departments at Munson Medical Center typically hire TN professionals?
Clinical departments are the most common source of TN-eligible openings at Munson, including nursing units, laboratory services, pharmacy, and medical imaging. Allied health and therapy roles may also qualify depending on the specific USMCA profession category. Reviewing active job postings on Migrate Mate can help you identify which departments are currently hiring for TN-compatible positions.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a job offer from Munson Medical Center?
Once Munson extends an offer, request a USMCA-compliant support letter from HR. That letter, along with your degree credentials, professional license, and proof that your occupation is on the USMCA professions list, forms your TN admission package. Canadian citizens present this at a U.S. port of entry; Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate and obtain a TN visa stamp before traveling.
How long does TN admission typically take at Munson Medical Center?
Canadian citizens admitted at a land border or pre-clearance port can receive TN status the same day if documentation is complete. Mexican nationals face a longer timeline because consular appointments vary in availability and a visa stamp must be issued before travel. TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain a qualifying role at Munson.
What documentation should I gather before pursuing a TN role at Munson Medical Center?
Gather your university degree transcripts and diploma, current professional license for Michigan or evidence of a pending application, and any credential evaluation if your degree was issued outside the United States or Canada. A detailed job description from Munson that maps your duties to a recognized USMCA profession also strengthens your case and reduces the likelihood of secondary inspection.
How does TN visa admission work at Munson Medical Center?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Munson Medical Center, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
