Match your credentials to USMCA professions
Before applying, confirm your occupation appears on the USMCA TN professions list. Healthcare roles at MyMichigan Health like registered nurse, physical therapist, or medical technologist qualify, but job titles must align precisely with listed categories, not just the general industry.
Verify your degree meets TN requirements
TN admission requires a degree directly related to your target role. MyMichigan Health clinical positions typically require a baccalaureate or higher in the relevant discipline. If your credentials were earned outside North America, arrange an evaluation before approaching any employer.
Search verified TN employer listings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles at MyMichigan Health by visa type. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with confirmed TN hiring history so you spend time on applications where TN admission is genuinely supported, not guessing from a generic job board listing.
Request a TN-specific offer letter early
MyMichigan Health's offer letter must state your job title, USMCA profession category, duration, and salary. Ask HR explicitly for a TN-compliant letter before scheduling your port of entry or consulate appointment, since a generic employment letter will not satisfy a border officer's requirements.
Prepare for border examination as a Canadian national
Canadians can seek TN admission directly at any Class A port of entry without a prior visa appointment. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, professional license if required, and passport. Officers can and do ask detailed questions about your specific duties and their connection to your degree field.
Understand TN renewal timing at healthcare employers
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals. MyMichigan Health can issue a new support letter for each renewal. Start the renewal process at least 90 days before your current status expires to accommodate any scheduling delays at the port of entry or consulate.
MyMichigan Health TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does MyMichigan Health sponsor TN visas?
Yes, MyMichigan Health supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in roles that align with the USMCA professions list. The company issues offer letters for TN candidates rather than filing a petition. There is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application involved in the TN process at MyMichigan Health.
Which roles at MyMichigan Health typically qualify for TN admission?
Clinical and allied health positions are the most common TN-supported roles at MyMichigan Health, including registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and pharmacists. Each role must correspond to a named USMCA profession category. Administrative or support roles that fall outside the USMCA list do not qualify for TN regardless of employer willingness.
How do I start the TN process with MyMichigan Health?
Once you receive a job offer, request a TN-compliant offer letter from MyMichigan Health's HR team. Canadians present that letter, their degree credentials, and their passport directly at a port of entry. Mexican nationals schedule a visa appointment at a U.S. consulate. Neither pathway requires a USCIS petition or DOL Labor Condition Application filing.
How long does TN admission take when applying through MyMichigan Health?
Canadian nationals can be admitted the same day at a port of entry if their documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate typically wait several weeks for an appointment, depending on consulate workload and scheduling availability. Preparing a thorough document package, including a detailed offer letter from MyMichigan Health, reduces the risk of delays or follow-up requests.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at MyMichigan Health?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at employers with confirmed TN hiring history, including MyMichigan Health, so you can filter specifically for TN-supported positions in healthcare. Checking O*NET for your occupation's standard duties and cross-referencing them against the USMCA professions list before you apply also helps you build a stronger case at the border or consulate.
How does TN visa admission work at MyMichigan Health?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from MyMichigan Health, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
