Verify your occupation qualifies under USMCA
TN admission is limited to specific professions on the USMCA list. For healthcare roles at North East Medical Services, confirm your exact job title maps to a qualifying occupation using O*NET before applying, since general healthcare titles like 'care coordinator' may not qualify without the right credential match.
Align your credentials to U.S. licensing standards
North East Medical Services operates in a regulated healthcare environment, so your foreign credentials need to meet California or relevant state licensure requirements. Registered nurses from Canada typically need NCLEX-RN passage and a credential evaluation from a CGFNS-approved body before North East Medical Services can issue a support letter.
Request a TN-specific offer letter from HR
North East Medical Services's HR team needs to issue an offer letter that explicitly states your USMCA profession category, your degree field, your U.S. job duties, and the intended employment period. Ask specifically for a TN support letter, not a standard employment offer, since the border officer reviews this document directly.
Search verified TN-supporting employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles at North East Medical Services that align with TN-eligible healthcare occupations. The platform surfaces positions where employers have demonstrated visa support history, helping you target applications toward roles where TN admission is already part of the hiring process.
Prepare for same-day admission at the port of entry
Canadian nationals apply for TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry with no prior government filing required. Bring your original offer letter, degree transcripts, professional license, and passport. CBP officers adjudicate TN on the spot, so having organized, complete documentation avoids delays at the border.
Understand how TN renewals work at North East Medical Services
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with no statutory cap on renewals, provided you maintain continuous qualifying employment. When North East Medical Services extends your contract, secure an updated offer letter before your current TN period expires so your renewal at the border or consulate goes without interruption.
North East Medical Services TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does North East Medical Services sponsor TN visas?
Yes, North East Medical Services supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in USMCA-listed healthcare occupations. The company issues offer letters that TN candidates use at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, so the timeline from offer to admission can be very short for Canadian nationals applying at the border.
Which roles at North East Medical Services typically qualify for TN status?
Roles that commonly qualify include physicians, registered nurses, medical technologists, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals listed on the USMCA professions schedule. North East Medical Services is a community health provider, so clinical and patient-facing positions are the most common TN pathways. Administrative or operational roles generally do not qualify unless they fall within a recognized USMCA profession category.
How do I apply for TN status once I have a job offer from North East Medical Services?
After receiving a TN support letter from North East Medical Services, Canadian nationals present their documentation directly to a CBP officer at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico. Neither route involves a USCIS petition or an LCA filing. You'll need your offer letter, degree credentials, professional license, and valid passport at the time of admission.
How long does the TN process take at North East Medical Services?
For Canadian nationals, TN status can be granted the same day at the border once North East Medical Services issues the offer letter and your credentials are in order. Mexican nationals face longer consular appointment wait times, which vary by location and season. The employer-side preparation, including issuing the TN offer letter, typically takes one to two weeks once HR confirms your role qualifies.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at North East Medical Services?
Migrate Mate lists open positions at employers with demonstrated visa support history, including healthcare organizations like North East Medical Services. Filter by TN-eligible occupations in the healthcare sector to surface roles where the hiring team is already familiar with the TN admission process. Cross-reference job titles against the USMCA professions list before applying to confirm your specific role qualifies.
How does TN visa admission work at North East Medical Services?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from North East Medical Services, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
