Verify your credential maps to USMCA
Penn Highlands Healthcare hires across nursing, therapy, and allied health, but TN admission only covers specific USMCA-listed professions. Cross-reference your occupation title against the official USMCA professions list before applying to confirm your role qualifies.
Match your degree field to your role
TN officers at the border evaluate whether your degree directly relates to the position Penn Highlands is offering. A physical therapist with a DPT has a clear match; a generalist science degree for a specialized clinical role can draw scrutiny and a secondary inspection.
Request a detailed offer letter from HR
Penn Highlands Healthcare's offer letter is your primary admission document. Ask HR to specify your exact job title, your USMCA profession category, your work location, and the employment period. Vague letters are the leading cause of delays at the port of entry.
Research Penn Highlands hiring activity on Migrate Mate
Before reaching out to recruiters, search Penn Highlands Healthcare on Migrate Mate to review its H-1B visa filing history by occupation code. That data signals which departments actively sponsor work visas, helping you target the right teams and frame your TN candidacy credibly.
Prepare your credential documents before the interview
CBP or consular officers expect original transcripts, professional licenses, and your offer letter at TN admission. Pennsylvania-licensed roles like RNs require a valid state license at the time of admission, so don't wait until after your Penn Highlands offer to start the licensing process.
Understand TN renewal timing at Penn Highlands
TN status is granted in increments and tied to your Penn Highlands employment. If your contract renews or your role changes departments, you'll need a new admission reflecting updated terms. Canadians can re-enter at the border; Mexicans must return to a U.S. consulate.
Penn Highlands Healthcare TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Penn Highlands Healthcare sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Penn Highlands Healthcare supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals by issuing offer letters for eligible clinical and allied health roles. TN isn't a petition Penn Highlands files with USCIS; it's a treaty-based admission you obtain at the border or consulate using Penn Highlands' offer letter as your supporting document.
Which roles at Penn Highlands Healthcare are eligible for TN admission?
TN-eligible roles at Penn Highlands Healthcare are limited to professions on the USMCA list, which covers occupations like registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and pharmacists. Penn Highlands operates across hospital, outpatient, and specialty care settings, so demand for these roles spans multiple departments and campuses.
How do I start the TN process with Penn Highlands Healthcare?
Secure a job offer first. Once Penn Highlands extends an offer, ask the HR or recruitment team to issue a detailed offer letter that identifies your USMCA profession category and employment terms. Canadians present that letter at a U.S. port of entry; Mexicans schedule an appointment at a U.S. consulate and bring the letter as supporting documentation.
How long does TN admission take for Penn Highlands positions?
Canadian nationals applying at the border can typically complete TN admission in a few hours on the day of crossing, assuming all documents are in order. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate should expect several weeks for scheduling and processing. Your O*NET occupation profile and your degree credentials are the documents most likely to be questioned.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Penn Highlands Healthcare?
Search Penn Highlands Healthcare on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by employers with visa sponsorship history so you can identify roles aligned with your USMCA profession. You can also check Penn Highlands' own careers portal directly and filter by clinical department. When you apply, flag your TN eligibility upfront so recruiters can route your application correctly.
How does TN visa admission work at Penn Highlands Healthcare?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Penn Highlands Healthcare, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
