Verify your occupation meets USMCA standards
TN eligibility is tied to a specific list of USMCA professions. Before applying to Raleigh General Hospital, cross-reference your job title and duties against that list. Roles like registered nurse, physical therapist, and medical technologist are commonly supported in hospital settings.
Align your credentials to U.S. licensing requirements
Raleigh General Hospital operates in West Virginia, which has its own state licensing board requirements for clinical roles. Confirm your foreign credentials are evaluated and that any required NCLEX or licensure steps are complete before your offer letter is issued.
Request a role-specific offer letter from HR
The offer letter Raleigh General Hospital provides must describe your position, confirm it meets the specialty occupation criteria under USMCA, and state your wage. A vague letter is the most common reason TN admission is delayed or questioned at the port of entry.
Search Raleigh General Hospital openings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles at Raleigh General Hospital filtered for TN-eligible positions. Seeing which departments are actively hiring helps you time your outreach and target hiring managers in units with demonstrated need for your specific clinical specialty.
Prepare a complete document package before travel
Canadian nationals present their TN package directly at a U.S. port of entry with no advance filing. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, professional licenses, and any credential evaluation documents. Border officers can deny admission on the spot if documentation is incomplete.
Confirm your wage meets the prevailing rate for your role
Use the OFLC Wage Search to check prevailing wages for your job title in the Raleigh General Hospital service area. If your offered salary falls below the applicable wage level, it can raise questions during TN admission that are difficult to resolve without a revised offer.
Raleigh General Hospital TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Raleigh General Hospital sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Raleigh General Hospital supports TN admission by issuing offer letters for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible USMCA professions. The hospital does not file a petition with USCIS. Instead, you present the offer letter and your credentials at the port of entry or a U.S. consulate to obtain TN status directly.
Which roles at Raleigh General Hospital are typically eligible for TN status?
Clinical and allied health positions that appear on the USMCA professions list are the most commonly supported. These include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and pharmacists. Administrative or general support roles are generally not eligible, since TN status requires the position itself to qualify as a listed USMCA profession.
How do I start the TN process with Raleigh General Hospital?
You begin by securing a job offer from Raleigh General Hospital. Once HR confirms your role qualifies under USMCA, they issue a detailed offer letter describing your position and compensation. Canadian nationals take that letter directly to a port of entry. Mexican nationals use it to apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. There is no USCIS petition involved.
How long does TN admission take when working with Raleigh General Hospital?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission at the border is typically decided the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate should expect a wait based on consulate scheduling. Once admitted, TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain your qualifying employment at the hospital.
How do I find TN-eligible openings at Raleigh General Hospital?
Migrate Mate lists open positions at Raleigh General Hospital and lets you filter for roles in healthcare that support TN admission. Targeting departments with active hiring in your specialty increases your chances of a timely offer. Confirm with HR that the specific role qualifies under USMCA before investing time in the credentialing and documentation process.
How does TN visa admission work at Raleigh General Hospital?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Raleigh General Hospital, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
