Verify your occupation qualifies for TN
TN admission is limited to roles explicitly listed in the USMCA professions schedule. Before applying to Saint Luke's, cross-reference your job title against that list and check the O*NET profile to confirm your duties align with the designated occupation category.
Request a detailed TN support letter
Saint Luke's issues offer letters that serve as your primary TN document at the port of entry or consulate. Ask your recruiter to include your occupation category, degree requirement, employment start date, and that the role is temporary in nature.
Match your credentials to USMCA degree requirements
Each USMCA profession has a specific educational requirement. Have your transcripts evaluated for U.S. equivalency before your interview, especially if you hold a Canadian three-year degree, so Saint Luke's HR can confirm your credentials meet the standard.
Target clinical departments with recurring TN hires
Saint Luke's consistently fills roles in nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, and medical technology through TN admission. Focusing your application on these departments increases your chances of reaching a hiring team already familiar with the TN process and documentation.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Saint Luke's TN roles
Search Migrate Mate's job board to filter Saint Luke's openings by TN sponsorship history. This lets you identify which departments are actively hiring TN professionals so you can direct your application rather than applying speculatively across the health system.
Prepare for port-of-entry or consular admission
Canadians seek TN admission directly at a U.S. land border or airport with their offer letter, degree credentials, and passport. Mexicans must schedule a consular interview first. Knowing which pathway applies lets you set a realistic start date with your Saint Luke's recruiter.
Saint Luke's TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Saint Luke's sponsor TN visas?
Saint Luke's supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying healthcare and allied health roles. The health system issues offer letters that candidates present at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved. Eligible roles must correspond to an occupation on the USMCA professions list.
Which roles at Saint Luke's typically qualify for TN admission?
Clinical and allied health positions are the most common TN pathways at Saint Luke's. Registered nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and dietitians frequently qualify because those occupations appear on the USMCA list and require specific degrees Saint Luke's candidates typically hold.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Saint Luke's offer?
Once Saint Luke's extends a written offer, request a formal TN support letter that names your USMCA occupation category, your degree requirement, and your intended start date. Canadian citizens then present that letter with credentials and passport at a port of entry. Mexican citizens schedule a consular appointment through USCIS guidance before traveling.
How long does it take to get TN status through Saint Luke's?
Canadians who qualify can receive TN admission the same day at the border if their documents are in order. Mexican nationals require a consular appointment, which adds several weeks depending on availability. Saint Luke's recruiting teams can coordinate start dates once you confirm which admission pathway applies to your citizenship.
