Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission is limited to occupations listed in the USMCA professions annex, so confirm your role qualifies before applying to Southcoast Health. Clinical roles like physical therapist or medical technologist appear on the list, but job titles that don't map cleanly can get rejected at the border.
Verify your license before the interview
Southcoast Health operates in Massachusetts, which requires active state licensure for most clinical hires. Secure your Massachusetts professional license or a board-issued eligibility letter before your interview, since the offer letter Southcoast issues will reference your licensed status directly.
Search verified TN employer data on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to identify Southcoast Health's hiring history across TN-eligible roles and target departments actively recruiting Canadian and Mexican nationals. Filtering by healthcare employer and occupation type narrows your search to positions where TN admission has already been supported.
Request a role-specific offer letter
Ask Southcoast Health's HR or legal team to include your USMCA profession category, your intended duties, and your expected employment period in the offer letter. Border officers and consular officials use this document to adjudicate your TN admission, so vague language about responsibilities can create delays.
Prepare for port-of-entry if you're Canadian
Canadian nationals don't need a visa stamp, so your TN admission happens at the port of entry. Bring your Southcoast Health offer letter, degree transcripts, professional license, and passport. Officers can request original credentials, so certified copies alone aren't always sufficient at busy crossings.
Align your degree field to the role description
TN officers assess whether your academic background directly supports the offered position. For Southcoast Health clinical roles, a degree in the exact discipline, such as medical technology or physical therapy, matters more than years of experience when the USMCA profession description specifies a qualifying field.
Southcoast Health TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Southcoast Health sponsor TN visas?
Southcoast Health supports TN admission by issuing offer letters for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in USMCA-listed occupations. The company doesn't file a petition on your behalf since TN is treaty-based admission, not an employer-sponsored visa. You present the offer letter at the border or U.S. consulate to request TN status directly.
Which roles at Southcoast Health typically qualify for TN admission?
Clinical and allied health roles are the most common TN-eligible positions at Southcoast Health. Physical therapists, medical technologists, occupational therapists, and registered nurses in qualifying classifications regularly appear in TN-supported hiring. The role must appear on the USMCA professions list, and your degree must align with the specific occupation category.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Southcoast Health offer?
Once Southcoast Health issues your offer letter, gather your passport, degree transcripts, and professional license. Canadian nationals present these documents at a U.S. port of entry and request TN admission directly. Mexican nationals apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate before traveling. USCIS is not involved in this process.
How long does TN admission take for Southcoast Health hires?
Canadian nationals admitted at the border typically receive a decision the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate face variable wait times depending on appointment availability at their local post. TN status is granted for up to three years and can be renewed without a cap on the number of renewals, so long as the qualifying employment continues.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Southcoast Health?
Migrate Mate lists Southcoast Health roles filtered by TN-eligible occupations, so you can identify positions where the company has a track record of supporting TN admission. Cross-reference any role against the USMCA professions annex and confirm your degree aligns with the occupation before applying, since mismatches are the most common reason TN requests are denied at entry.
How does TN visa admission work at Southcoast Health?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Southcoast Health, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
