Verify your role against USMCA professions
TN admission covers a fixed list of professions under USMCA, not every healthcare title. Cross-reference your exact job title and duties against the official professions list before applying. Roles like registered nurse, medical technologist, and physical therapist qualify; general support staff do not.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Southeast Georgia Health System's offer letter must specify your job title, USMCA profession category, your qualifications, and the employment period. Vague letters cause border delays. Ask HR to confirm the letter matches your credential documents before you schedule a port-of-entry appointment or consulate visit.
Match credentials to TN documentation standards
Canadian and Mexican healthcare professionals face different documentation requirements. Canadians present credentials at the border; Mexicans apply at a U.S. consulate. Nursing credentials in particular must align with state licensure requirements. Confirm your degree transcripts, license, and any credential evaluation are ready before approaching Southeast Georgia Health System recruiters.
Search TN-specific roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Southeast Georgia Health System job listings by TN-eligible visa status, so you're only reviewing roles the system actively supports for Canadian and Mexican professionals. This saves time and ensures your application targets positions aligned with active TN hiring rather than general openings.
Align your salary expectations with prevailing wage
Southeast Georgia Health System sets compensation in line with regional healthcare wage standards. Before negotiating, look up the prevailing wage for your occupation and the Brunswick, Georgia area using the OFLC Wage Search. Arriving at the offer stage with this data strengthens your position and confirms the role meets legal wage thresholds.
Prepare for TN renewal before your status expires
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, but continuous employment with Southeast Georgia Health System is expected. Start renewal preparation well before your current status ends. A new offer letter and supporting credential documents are required each time you renew at the border or through USCIS.
Southeast Georgia Health System TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Southeast Georgia Health System sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Southeast Georgia Health System supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying USMCA healthcare roles. The system issues offer letters that TN candidates present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, and the process is initiated by the worker, not the employer filing on their behalf.
Which roles at Southeast Georgia Health System typically qualify for TN status?
Clinical and allied health roles are the most common TN-eligible positions at Southeast Georgia Health System. Registered nurses, medical technologists, physical therapists, and pharmacists fall within the USMCA professions list. Administrative, facilities, and general support roles do not qualify for TN regardless of how the job is titled internally.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a job offer from Southeast Georgia Health System?
Once Southeast Georgia Health System issues a formal offer letter specifying your USMCA profession category and qualifications, Canadians can present it directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico. Gather your degree transcripts, professional license, and the offer letter before proceeding. USCIS provides guidance on acceptable documentation.
How long does TN admission take for Southeast Georgia Health System candidates?
Canadian professionals approved at the border can begin work the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate typically wait one to several weeks depending on appointment availability. There is no USCIS petition processing period for TN, which makes timelines significantly shorter than H-1B visa. Delays usually stem from incomplete documentation rather than processing backlogs.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at Southeast Georgia Health System?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Southeast Georgia Health System job listings specifically for TN-eligible roles, so you're not sorting through positions that don't support your visa status. Focus on clinical departments where USMCA-listed professions are concentrated. Reach out directly to the health system's talent acquisition team once you've identified a role that matches your credentials and profession category.
How does TN visa admission work at Southeast Georgia Health System?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Southeast Georgia Health System, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
