Confirm your role is USMCA-listed
Physical Therapist is an approved TN profession, but not every healthcare title at Spear qualifies. Cross-reference your exact job title against the USMCA professions list before applying. Roles like PT aide or rehab tech fall outside TN eligibility entirely.
Request a TN-specific offer letter
Spear's HR team needs to issue an offer letter that specifies your TN profession category, the prearranged nature of the work, and your anticipated start date. Ask the recruiter explicitly for a TN-compliant letter before you schedule your border or consulate appointment.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wages first
Before negotiating compensation at Spear, run your PT role and location through OFLC Wage Search. Canadian and Mexican PT professionals frequently accept below-market offers without realizing it. Knowing the prevailing wage for your metro gives you a credible, data-backed position in salary discussions.
Study Spear's clinical specialty when targeting openings
Spear concentrates heavily on sports rehabilitation and orthopedic physical therapy. Highlighting hands-on orthopedic or post-surgical PT experience in your application materials positions you as a direct match for the patient population Spear's clinics serve, which strengthens your candidacy before sponsorship conversations begin.
Use Migrate Mate to surface verified TN openings at Spear
Searching general job boards misses roles where TN admission is already understood. Migrate Mate filters employers by visa type, so you can identify active Spear Physical Therapy openings where TN professionals are specifically welcome and skip the uncertainty of cold outreach.
Prepare your credentials package before the offer stage
Spear will expect proof of your PT licensure and degree at or before onboarding. Canadian and Mexican applicants should have degree certificates, transcript translations if applicable, and state PT license documentation ready so the offer-to-admission timeline doesn't stall on document gaps.
Spear Physical Therapy TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Spear Physical Therapy sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Spear Physical Therapy hires TN professionals, primarily physical therapists who are Canadian or Mexican nationals. The TN classification is treaty-based under USMCA, so Spear's role is to issue a qualifying offer letter rather than file a petition. You present that letter at the U.S. border or consulate to obtain TN admission.
Which roles at Spear Physical Therapy qualify for TN admission?
Physical Therapist is the most common TN-eligible role at Spear, as it appears directly on the USMCA professions list. Other USMCA-listed healthcare professionals such as Occupational Therapist or Medical Technologist may qualify depending on open positions. Roles like PT aide, rehab technician, or front-desk staff are not TN-eligible professions under USMCA.
How do I start the TN process with Spear Physical Therapy?
Once Spear extends a job offer, ask your recruiter or HR contact to provide a TN-compliant offer letter that specifies your profession category, employer details, and the prearranged nature of the position. Canadian nationals then present that letter at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate. USCIS is not involved in this process.
How long does TN admission at Spear Physical Therapy take?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission at the border is typically decided the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a consulate should allow several weeks for the appointment and processing. TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely, so your ongoing employment at Spear is not capped by a visa clock.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Spear Physical Therapy?
Use Migrate Mate to filter for Spear Physical Therapy roles where TN admission is supported, which removes the guesswork of identifying which postings are open to Canadian and Mexican candidates. From there, tailor your application to Spear's clinical focus in sports rehabilitation and orthopedic PT to improve your chances of reaching the offer stage.
How does TN visa admission work at Spear Physical Therapy?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Spear Physical Therapy, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
