Verify your occupation matches USMCA professions
TN admission is limited to specific occupations listed under USMCA, and healthcare roles vary widely in eligibility. Cross-reference your exact job title against the USMCA professions list using O*NET before applying, so you can confirm your role qualifies before reaching the offer stage.
Target clinical departments with recurring TN hires
University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group consistently staffs nursing, physical therapy, and diagnostic imaging roles where TN-eligible occupations are common. Focus your application on departments with ongoing clinical demand rather than administrative or support functions, which rarely align with USMCA profession categories.
Request a detailed offer letter covering all TN requirements
The offer letter University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group provides is your primary document at the border or consulate. Confirm it states your USMCA profession category, your specific duties, your employment start date, and that the position is prearranged and full-time before you finalize travel.
Use Migrate Mate to identify verified TN-supporting employers
Before investing time in a lengthy application, confirm University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group actively supports TN candidates for your role type. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level visa data so you can validate sponsorship history and find comparable healthcare employers in the region if needed.
Prepare credential verification documents early
Healthcare roles at University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group require licensure documentation that U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers will review alongside your offer letter. Gather your professional license, degree transcripts, and any credential evaluation reports well before your entry date to avoid delays at the port of entry.
Understand TN renewal timing for long-term placement
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, but your employment must remain continuous and role-consistent. If University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group changes your department, title, or duties substantially, discuss whether a new TN entry document is needed before the transition takes effect.
