Construction Project Engineer Jobs in Irvine, CA

We are a Commercial General Contractor seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee a ground-up project located in Irvine, CA.

A minimum of 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction is required. Must have previous public works, DSA or HCAI project experience. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, comfortable with construction technology, and experienced in managing projects with tight schedules and strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong field leadership, with the ability to take ownership of the jobsite, drive schedule, and hold subcontractors accountable.

Duties:

• Completes construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling all phases of the work; performing quality inspections; and supervising subcontractors and field staff.
• Accomplishes project objectives by communicating job expectations, planning and monitoring work activities, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Manages subcontractors by monitoring performance, maintaining schedule compliance, and ensuring quality standards are met. Enforces subcontractor accountability for manpower, production, and overall performance.
• Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and project reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying process improvements.
• Maintains project budget by monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Achieves project results by defining scope, coordinating resources, scheduling subcontractors and staff, evaluating milestone assumptions, resolving design issues, and managing change orders. Actively drives and maintains the project schedule.
• Prevents fines and job interruptions by complying with and enforcing all applicable codes and regulations.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy jobsite by following and enforcing safety standards and procedures and complying with all legal requirements.
• Leads subcontractor coordination and pre-installation meetings.
• Identifies and resolves field issues and conflicts proactively.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum 8–10 years of commercial construction field experience
• Public Works, DSA/HCAI project experience
• Ground-up construction experience
• Proficient with MS Project, Procore, and Bluebeam
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Strong quality management and supervisory skills
• Experience managing schedules, subcontractors, and project profitability
• Knowledge of ADA requirements
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus
• Strong understanding of civil work and site development (grading, utilities, paving, drainage)
• Proven ability to run a jobsite independently and drive project schedule to completion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
