Sagres Construction, Corporation is seeking the addition of a Civil Construction Project Engineer to the current management team. We are a growing, mid-sized, General Contractor based in Alexandria, Virginia, performing work throughout the area of Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Our customers include local municipalities and Federal and State Agencies. Typical projects range between $1M and $25M and typically consist of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, road and bridge construction.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for participating in all project deliverables including administration, coordination, changes, scheduling, safety, quality control and assurance to deliver on time completion while effectively utilizing allocated resources.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate effectively with Project Team
· Prepare material submittal(s) and maintain logs
· Negotiate and draft Subcontract Agreements and Purchase Orders if required
· Track project progress and update schedules. Assess if time impact analysis are required
· Document quantities of completed work and assist with project billings
· Attend kick-off meetings required to coordinate work activity with project owners/subs
· Coordinate work with Subcontractors and Superintendent
· Document changes and change order cost estimates. Deliver proposals to clients
· Assist QC with non-conformance logs and remedial efforts through completion
· Familiarity with work shown on plans for use in guiding onsite subs/resources
· Prepare RFI submittals when required
· Clarify intent on drawings and specifications for field personnel
· Attend meetings as required to discuss potential issues and maintain minutes of meeting
· Receive and document revised drawings while conforming a set
· Proactively monitor all work completed for punch list work and schedule promptly
· Distribution of all correspondence approved by Project Manager
· Draft Traffic Control Plans and Sketches utilizing Cad software
Qualification:
· B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; a plus
· Preferred 5 years of heavy/civil construction project engineer experience
· Able to demonstrate solid understanding of completing tasks associated with responsibilities
· Able to demonstrate analytical and written communication skills
· Able to sequence and develop cost loaded schedule using Primavera P6
· Able to draft utilizing CAD Software
