The ID1 Facilities Electrical team supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical power, instrumentation & controls (I&C), and fire alarm/life safety systems across the Boise ID1 site. The team partners closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Construction to support commissioning, ramp, and steady-state manufacturing operations. The Electrical Shift Supervisor provides direct people leadership for technicians supporting Electrical, I&C, and Fire Alarm systems. The Shift Supervisor is expected to model and reinforce strict procedural adherence and a disciplined operations mindset, ensuring consistent, safe, and compliant execution across all shifts.
This role is responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and shift execution, ensuring the workforce is prepared to safely support ID1 operational and reliability needs across commissioning and ongoing operations. This position will support Micron’s 4x12 rotating shift model, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role may initially operate on a 4x10 day schedule during startup and/or transition periods before moving to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision for Electrical, I&C, and Fire Alarm technicians, including hiring, onboarding, training, and daily work direction.
- Conduct coaching, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Lead shift execution by prioritizing work, ensuring accurate pass-down, and responding to equipment or system issues.
- Enforce Micron and ID1 safety, quality, and compliance requirements (PPE, CoHE/LOTO, JHA/JSA).
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Project teams to support commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Apply troubleshooting expertise and practical field experience to support technicians during complex electrical, controls, or fire alarm system issues while ensuring safe, compliant execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, electrical safety practices, facilities systems, instrumentation & controls, and fire alarm/life safety systems.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to lead teams, evaluate work quality, and support safe and effective execution.
- Experience leading or supervising technicians in an industrial, facilities, or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to work a rotating 4x12 shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting semiconductor or high-reliability manufacturing facilities.
- Five years of troubleshooting experience in critical environments.
- Experience in developing procedures, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Journeyman Electrical certification or equivalent trade experience.
- Experience supporting commissioning, system startup, or facility ramp-up activities.
