How do you become a data analyst intern in Mississippi?
The most direct path is enrolling in a bachelor's program in data analytics, statistics, information systems, or computer science at a Mississippi institution such as Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi, or Millsaps College. No state-issued license is required for this role. Employers expect coursework in SQL, statistics, and data visualization, and a portfolio of academic or personal projects demonstrating analytical work gives candidates a clear edge in the Mississippi market.
Which companies hire data analyst interns in Mississippi?
Companies currently hiring data analyst interns in Mississippi include CVS Health, Baptist Memorial Health Care, and Northrop Grumman, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's healthcare, banking, and state government sectors account for a large share of internship openings, making those industries the most reliable sources of early-career data opportunities.
Which Mississippi cities have the most data analyst intern jobs?
Jackson, Columbus, and Mississippi have the most data analyst intern openings in Mississippi. Jackson drives the bulk of demand as the state capital and home to major healthcare systems, insurance firms, and government agencies, while Ridgeland and Hattiesburg contribute openings through their growing clusters of financial services companies and university-affiliated research programs.

Yes, and more than most fields, since data analyst intern work is largely desk-based and conducted through software tools that function equally well from any location. About 44% of data analyst intern openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this field have embraced flexible arrangements. Tasks like reporting, dashboard building, and data cleaning are the most commonly performed remotely.
