Assistant Director of Intramurals

Under the general direction of the Director of Campus Recreation, the Assistant Director of Intramurals, Sport Clubs, and Camps provide leadership, administration, and strategic oversight for the Intramural Sports Program, Sport Club Program, and Summer Camp Program. As a member of the Campus Recreation leadership team, this position is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, promotion and assessment of comprehensive recreational sports opportunities that support student engagement and development.
Primary responsibilities include the administration of the Intramural Sports Program, including scheduling, staffing, supervision, and evaluation of all leagues, tournaments, and special events. The Assistant Director also oversees the Sport Club Program through the supervision, development, and support of student-led clubs. In addition, the position serves as Director of the Summer Camp Program, providing oversight of program promotion, registration, participant communications, staff recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation to ensure a safe and high-quality camp experience.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Prefer experience in sports administration.

Oversees program registration, parent and participant communications, risk management practices, budget administration, and compliance with university policies and youth protection standards.
Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates camp counselors and student staff, fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, customer service excellence, and leadership development. Collaborates with campus and community partners to enhance program offerings, expand outreach efforts, and support the university’s mission of community engagement and lifelong wellness.
