Vice President of Student Affairs (ECP)
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the President, the Vice President (VP) of Student Affairs will provide leadership for student life culture that promotes civility, celebrates diversity, and encourages an inclusive campus climate. The Vice President is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the student development and retention programs and services managed by the Division of Student Affairs, and recommending the development and implementation of new programs and services that support the College’s strategic plan. Areas of oversight include Health Services, Counseling, Student Disability Services, Gender Resources, Student Life and Leadership Development, Veterans Affairs, Community Standards, and International Student and Scholar Services. The Vice President will also maintain college-level oversight of Student Housing/The Towers, as well as the Child Development Center.

The Vice President is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction of the Division of Student Affairs. The position provides executive oversight for student development, engagement, retention, and support services, ensuring that programs and resources promote student success and advance the College's mission and strategic priorities. The Vice President provides leadership and supervision to divisional staff, oversees the development and implementation of policies, programs, and procedures related to student affairs, and fosters collaboration among College departments to support the intellectual, social, professional, and personal development of a diverse student population.
The Vice President is responsible for establishing divisional goals and objectives, evaluating performance outcomes, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring the effective delivery of services across all areas within the Division. The position collaborates closely with Academic Affairs and other College and University leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the student experience. The Vice President also provides leadership in the use of technology, assessment, and performance metrics to improve services, support student engagement, and advance institutional effectiveness.
As a member of the College's executive leadership team, the Vice President represents the Division of Student Affairs in College-wide and University-wide initiatives, promotes a culture of excellence, innovation, accountability, and inclusion, and performs other related duties as assigned by the President.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The position requires extensive experience overseeing the functional areas within the Division of Student Affairs, including the supervision and development of a diverse professional staff. The successful candidate must demonstrate a record of excellence in leadership and management of student affairs functions within a large, complex higher education environment with organizational characteristics and a student population similar to The City College of New York.
The successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate a proven ability to build effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external stakeholders. Candidates must possess at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in positions with similar scope and responsibilities. An appropriate doctoral-level degree is preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range $178,550 - $205,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
