About A.W. Martin Construction
A.W. Martin Construction is a licensed general contracting company based in East Windsor, NJ, serving homeowners and businesses across New Jersey for over 30 years. We specialize in kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovations, basement finishing, home additions, and commercial fit-outs — transforming houses into dream homes, one project at a time.
We've built our reputation almost entirely on referrals and word of mouth, earning a 4.9-star rating across Facebook, Google, Yelp, and the BBB with over 270 reviews — and an A+ BBB rating. With 1,400+ happy clients and 750+ completed projects, our work speaks for itself.
Now, we're ready to let the internet speak for us too. That's where you come in.
What We Look For
We are looking for a creative, driven student who understands how people engage online and wants to build a real portfolio doing real work for a real company. No experience required — just a hunger to learn and create.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Marketing, Communications, Business, or related majors preferred)
- Strong written communication skills — you know how to write a caption that stops a scroll
- Comfortable creating or sourcing content (photos, short-form video, graphics)
- Familiar with at least a few social platforms — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a consistent posting schedule without being micromanaged
- Knowledge of Canva, Photoshop and other industry specific software’s is a plus.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a hands-on role. You will be the voice of A.W. Martin Construction across every major platform. Your job is to show the world the quality of our work — before-and-afters, project spotlights, client transformations, seasonal promotions, and more — consistently, creatively, and strategically.
- Creating and scheduling daily/weekly content across platforms (e.g Facebook, Instagram, Next Door)
- Writing engaging captions and calls-to-action tailored to each platform's audience
- Sourcing content from our project gallery, job sites, and client testimonials
- Tracking post performance and reporting on what's working
- Helping grow our local presence on community-focused platforms
- Being Consistent on all platforms
What You Will Learn
This internship gives you transferable skills — not just busywork. By the end, you will have:
- A fully built social media portfolio with real posts, real engagement, and real results across multiple platforms
- Hands-on experience managing multi-platform content calendars for a professional brand
- Experience with social media analytics and how to adjust strategy based on data
- Practical knowledge of content creation, copywriting, and brand voice development
- Direct mentorship and professional exposure working alongside a company with 30+ years of industry credibility
Compensation
This is a paid internship. You are compensated hourly for the work you put in.
- $16.00/hr - $20.00/hr
- 10–20 hours per week — flexible around your class schedule
- Hybrid — work mostly remotely with occasional on-site visits to capture project content
Consider Before Applying
This role rewards consistency. Social media only works when someone shows up for it every week — not just when inspiration strikes. You'll be trusted to manage A.W. Martin's public image and community reputation across multiple platforms with real autonomy.
Ask yourself:
- Are you someone who actually enjoys being on social media — and can turn that into professional content?
- Can you commit to a consistent posting schedule week after week?
- Are you comfortable working independently and managing your own time in a hybrid setting?
- Do you want a portfolio piece that proves you can grow a real brand — not just a class project?
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- What year do you graduate college (if you are not enrolled in college, put N/A)?
