Bitarchitects is looking for a licensed Mechanical PE to support residential and building projects, including MEP design and coordination, across the DMV.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer seeking project-based work and collaboration with architecture and engineering professionals.
The role is remote, with occasional site visits in the DMV area when needed.
What You’ll Work On
- Design, review, and coordinate MEP systems for residential and other building projects.
- Develop and review HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical building systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate drawings and designs for compliance with U.S. building codes, jurisdictional requirements, and applicable standards.
- Review construction documents and provide technical feedback, recommendations, and revisions.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Support project permitting, including preparation and review of documentation and responses to technical comments.
- Participate in occasional DMV-area site visits for project assessments, coordination, and technical support.
- Stay current with applicable mechanical codes, regulations, standards, and industry practices.
What We’re Looking For
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia.
- Active PE licensure in multiple DMV jurisdictions is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical building systems.
- Strong understanding of U.S. mechanical codes, permitting requirements, and engineering standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or comparable engineering/design software.
- Strong technical judgment and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage assignments independently and meet project deadlines.
