Job Description
Equipment Maintenance/Evaluation:
- Repairs, installs, and maintains clinical equipment/instruments
- Ensures that clinical equipment is used accurately
- Perform preventative maintenance as well as testing
- Performs pre-purchase evaluation of clinical equipment
Customer Service:
- Effectively and efficiently provide customer service as required
- Perform and be available for “after hours”/emergency service
Liaison:
- Serves as a liaison between Biomedical Department and North Mississippi Health Services
Reporting:
- Updates and maintains equipment maintenance reports
Education/Training:
- Stay abreast of changings in the advancement of laboratory equipment
Regulation:
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology or willing to obtain one within 2 years; required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of specific medical equipment; required
- Valid Mississippi Driver’s License and acceptable driving record; required
- Certified as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation; desired
- Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JACHO) standards; required
- Basic understanding of Anatomy and Physiology; desired
- Excellent customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills; required
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.); required
- Excellent interpersonal skills; required
