ERP Consultant Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a erp consultant in California?
Most erp consultant roles in California require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, or business administration, combined with hands-on platform experience. No state-issued license applies to this role, but employers consistently favor candidates who hold vendor-recognized credentials such as SAP Certified Application Associate or Oracle Cloud certifications. Building project experience through California-based consulting firms, enterprise IT departments, or internal ERP implementation teams is the standard path into the field.
How much do ERP consultants make in California?
ERP consultants in California earn a median of about $101,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,360 for the lowest 10% to over $174,970 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire erp consultants in California?
Employers hiring erp consultants in California right now include Calsoft Systems, Hunter Douglas, and Sila Nanotechnologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of global technology headquarters, large aerospace and defense contractors, and major healthcare systems means consistent openings across both direct employer and consulting firm roles.
Which California cities have the most erp consultant jobs?
Los Angeles, Alameda, and Cerritos lead California for erp consultant openings. The Bay Area's density of enterprise software companies and corporate headquarters drives the largest share of postings, while Los Angeles and San Diego generate strong demand through aerospace, entertainment conglomerates, healthcare networks, and defense contractors that maintain large ERP environments requiring ongoing implementation and support.
Are there remote erp consultant jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of erp consultant openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of much of this work. Configuration, testing, training, and project management phases of ERP engagements are the most commonly performed remotely, while go-live cutover support and on-site user training typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a erp consultant in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is joining a large California-based consulting firm or technology integrator as a junior analyst or associate consultant, where structured onboarding and project shadowing replace prior ERP experience. Firms such as Deloitte, Accenture, and regional SAP or Oracle partners in the Bay Area and Los Angeles regularly hire candidates from adjacent roles including business analyst, financial analyst, and IT support. Earning a vendor certification before applying gives candidates without implementation history a concrete credential that hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to erp consultant jobs in California?
You can find and apply to erp consultant jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings for roles that match your platform specialization and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
