Who's Hiring

Field Service Specialist Jobs in Providence: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a field service specialist job in Providence?
Target Providence's healthcare technology companies, utility providers, and industrial equipment distributors, which generate the steadiest local demand for field service specialists. Roles concentrate near the Jewelry District and along the Route 146 corridor into North Providence. Candidates who combine hands-on technical certifications with familiarity with medical or industrial equipment stand out in Providence's market, where employers consistently prefer applicants who can get on-site quickly and independently.
Which companies hire field service specialists in Providence?
Companies currently hiring field service specialists in Providence include Gilbane, Roche, and Ampelmann, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Providence's employer mix skews toward healthcare systems, utilities, and specialty manufacturing firms, many of which maintain dedicated field service teams for ongoing equipment maintenance and client support.
Are there remote field service specialist jobs in Providence?
Yes, though most field service specialist roles are inherently hands-on and require on-site presence. About 0% of field service specialist openings tied to Providence are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote work most common in diagnostic triage, technical support coordination, and documentation roles rather than direct equipment servicing.
How can I get a field service specialist job in Providence with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Providence is through technician apprenticeships or associate-level roles at the city's utility companies and medical device distributors, which regularly hire candidates with vocational training and promote from within. Entry-level installations and preventive maintenance positions at Providence-area healthcare systems and industrial suppliers are practical starting points, and completing manufacturer-specific equipment certifications before applying gives candidates a concrete, local edge.
