About the Role

Zeeno Robotics is developing Zeeno Sterile™, an automated instrument-workflow system designed to coordinate cassette transport and handling across cleaning, preparation, packaging, and compatible steam-sterilization equipment. The system is currently in development and is not commercially available.

We are hiring a field service technician to assemble and troubleshoot development units with our engineering team, install equipment at controlled validation and evaluation sites and, when authorized, customer sites, and support approved deployments. This role reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble Zeeno Sterile units, working closely with our engineering team through prototyping and design iterations.
• Perform mechanical and software installation and connect equipment to approved, pre-existing electrical, plumbing, and network interfaces. Coordinate qualified contractors for work requiring trade licenses or permits.
• Provide ongoing on-site and remote technical support for installed units: troubleshoot faults, coordinate replacement components, and keep units running.
• Execute approved installation and qualification protocols, including IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable, and document results accurately in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Log deviations, nonconformances, use errors, and service events in the company's electronic quality system (eQMS); support root-cause investigations and CAPA follow-up.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies to engineering and make field modifications once approved.
• Maintain parts and consumables inventory in the company's inventory system and keep an accurate record of preventive maintenance for each system.
• Coordinate with site contacts on installation logistics, utility readiness, and site agreements.
• Coordinate third-party contractors, including shipping, electrical, and plumbing.

What You'll Need

• Mechanically inclined. You enjoy building, fixing, and understanding how things work, and you're comfortable with hand tools and basic electromechanical assembly.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers, including clinical staff, in their own workplace.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building, assembling, installing, or servicing mechanical or electromechanical equipment. An associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable with basic low-voltage electrical troubleshooting, plumbing/tubing connections, and reading mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Strong documentation habits. You can follow a written protocol and produce accurate, legible records. You are working on a regulated medical device.
• Willing and able to travel domestically roughly 50% of the time for installs and site support; a valid driver’s license is required.
• Comfortable with basic IT work, including installing software and configuring devices on a customer network.

Nice to Have

• Experience in medical device manufacturing, dental/sterile processing, or another regulated industry (ISO 13485 / FDA QMSR exposure).
• A background in sterile processing, or familiarity with autoclave/ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
• Exposure to electrical safety or EMC test environments.

Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, this role regularly requires standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment and components up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work around water and cleaning solutions. Regular domestic travel by car and air.

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
