Who's Hiring

Field Technician Jobs in Wichita: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a field technician job in Wichita?
Wichita's strongest demand for field technicians comes from its aerospace and defense manufacturing base, utilities, and telecom infrastructure companies operating across the metro. Candidates who highlight hands-on diagnostic skills, equipment certifications relevant to aviation or industrial systems, and experience with preventive maintenance stand out locally. Targeting employers in the Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems supply chain, as well as regional utilities and HVAC service companies, gives you the most direct path into steady field technician work in Wichita.
Which companies hire field technicians in Wichita?
Employers hiring field technicians in Wichita right now include Foley Equipment Company, CTC, and etsc, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Wichita's hiring base is a mix of large aerospace primes, regional utilities, and specialized service contractors that need technicians across manufacturing facilities, substations, and customer sites throughout the metro.
Are there remote field technician jobs in Wichita?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited by nature since most field technician roles require on-site equipment work, inspections, or installations. About 0% of field technician openings tied to Wichita are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which typically covers roles with a significant reporting, scheduling, or technical support component rather than pure hands-on fieldwork. In Wichita, remote-eligible positions tend to appear with telecom and IT infrastructure employers rather than manufacturing or utilities contractors.
How can I get a field technician job in Wichita with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Wichita is through apprenticeship or helper roles with local HVAC, electrical, and telecom contractors who regularly hire entry-level candidates and train on the job. Wichita Community Technical College programs in electronics and industrial maintenance feed directly into openings at area manufacturers and service companies. Employers in the aerospace supply chain often hire technician trainees willing to earn FAA or industry-specific certifications while working, making Wichita's industrial base a practical starting point even without prior field experience.
