INTRODUCTION

As a Financial Consultant, you will partner directly with finance and operational leadership on forecasting, financial performance analysis, and executive-level insights across the Utah and Idaho markets, with a focus on key healthcare drivers including membership, risk adjustment, and medical costs. That's a lot of responsibility, but you will have the support and resources of a Fortune 5 industry leader behind you every step of the way.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm MST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Performance Analysis:
- Quarterly forecasting and monthly variance analysis across key business drivers, including membership, risk adjustment, and medical costs
- Develop financial bridges and executive-level insights to explain performance vs. plan and prior periods

Partner with finance and operational leadership to identify risks, opportunities, and key business trends

Executive Communication and Business Partnership:
- Translate complex financial results into clear, concise insights for senior leadership
- Support preparation of executive presentations, commentary, and business reviews

Influence decision-making through data-driven storytelling and financial guidance

Process Improvement and Automation:
- Develop and enhance financial models, reporting tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability

Leverage advanced Excel and data tools to manage large datasets and streamline reporting processes

Provider Compensation and Incentive Calculations:
- Perform quarterly calculations of provider productivity and quality initiatives that adjust their compensation

Develop reporting outputs for operations, senior management, and providers; serve as a key contact to explain results and address questions

SG&A Management:
- Manage the reporting and analysis of SG&A month end close
- Research and understand business operations to identify cost optimization initiatives
- Lead, track, and follow up with Sr. leaders on SG&A efficiency initiatives
- Oversee the improvement of SG&A management reporting on a detailed and segmented basis to ensure cost tracking and containment with Sr. leaders

Partner with operational Sr. leaders to assist in setting statistical metrics to enhance awareness of operational performance and decisions around FTE management

Acquisition Analysis and Presentation:

Support financial/qualitative analysis on potential acquisitions of provider groups and network deals

Strategic and Ad Hoc Analysis:
- Creation and management of ad hoc requests and reporting from Sr. Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related role
- Analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA license or MBA Degree
- Hyperion Essbase, database, and PeopleSoft experience
- Experience preparing executive-level financial presentations and commentary
- Experience in healthcare
- Ability to create a positive team-based work environment
TELECOMMUTING REQUIREMENTS:
- Reside within commutable distance to the office at 12921 S Vista Station Blvd, Draper, UT 84020.
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
